I honestly think Montreal are one of the most overrated teams in the East right now. Thats not even because Im a biased Leafs fan

Great blog as usual. Some thoughts...

* It will be a huge disappointment if Cammy has a third weak season. If he can't pull off 30 with Cole and Pacioretty, it might be time to move him.

* PK will always have to perform at a higher level than most to get the same rewards. Whether it's about race, or just the fact that he is very cheeky, who knows?

* Re-sign Pacioretty for the long-term, PG.

* I hope Price does not play 70 games this year. Unless Budaj provides more relief than Auld, that move is wasted.

* Eller will improve, as will DD. Each will play multiple roles this year. In Martin's system, everyone is competing with everyone.

* Anything less than 70 games from Markov would be disappointing. Expecting our goalie to play more games than our top defenceman is a little wonky.

* Markov is a better PP quarterback than Wiz. Wiz has a wicked shot, but he wasn't really much of a QB for us. He actually scared me a little at times.

* Gomez is an enigma. Who knows what he will do?

* AK46 will be traded by December 15.

* Habs finish 5th in the East.

thanks....

The funny thing is, I overheard a couple of conversations about hurricanes, but I had no idea one hit New York until you just mentioned it. I wasn't exactly listening to the news on the weekend. Left early Friday, back late Sunday.

Were you evacuated or something?

You didn't believe we had an earthquake either!!
Long Island got hit quite hard. Still without power.

Markov never helped no one.
I mean the evidence is all around the league.
Komi after leaving the habs has certainly proved his truculence in a leaf uniform, but to be fare who could not succeed playing along side "neon Dion"
Souray has also proved his worth in Edmonton racking up the points as a go to guy on the PP.
So one can plainly see there is absolutely no way he helped Streit in anyway shape or form.

- thebigbird

Souray had one of his best years ever in Edmonton (second best). He's battled injuries, which has played a big part in holding him back. He had a few years in Montreal, beside Markov, that didn't come close to that season in Edmonton. I'd hardly call him a shining example of anything.

Streit didn't seem to really miss a beat moving on.

Komisarek would be really the only one that could possibly help your point. And interestingly, most Habs fans seem to point to Lucic being the difference.... Not Markov.

He had a falling out with the GM while he was injuried.

Don't forget you can't compare numbers under Jacques Martin to numbers in LA or Calgary since JM demands a much higher two-way responsibility from all his players.

Cammi should be scoring 30 regardless of the coach.

Becuase there are so many goal scorers on the team, might aswell give him to a team lacking offense.

I never said anything about its whereabouts Howard.

However I can't catch my breath, cough, sneeze, laugh or push hard on the can and it's going to be a long month.

not to speak for howard but the south coast of connecticut, Rhode island and long island got nailed.

I had no idea.

It's been a crazy couple of weeks for that stuff. There were 2 severe storms in Toronto, combined with that earthquake, in one week.

There were entire trees down in my neighbourhood after one of the storms. I was sitting on the porch watching it, and without exaggeration, the sky looked like a flickering light there was so much lightning. The thunder just seemed to growl constantly, with the occasional boom here and there, amidst the constant growl.

Maybe it's the apocalypse.

If so, does this mean the Leafs might win the cup?
