I've only been to CBP a few times, but I don't think there is a bad place to sit. Even standing room only tickets are a good time. One of the great American ballparks right now, and a fantastic time.

PNC Park in Pittsburgh is better, IMO.

Just a beautiful park, right on the water. Worth the trip.

Your absolutely right. Life goes on and so with this organization. Homer tried to assemble the best team that fits the NEEDS of the Philadelphia Flyers. Some moves may be questioned (happens everywhere) and others people like. Will soon find out how good this team will be this upcoming season. I personally like the moves and expect a very competitive team out on the ice throughout the year.

I think that in 2 years we're gonna be a powerhouse. I still am not sure what to expect this year. My gut is telling me that without big injuries.. we should be a 5-8 seed. Things can change if Crosby doesn't come back fully though. I just can't see ALL of Homer's moves panning out and JVR and Roo both taking big steps forward this year. There will be parts of the plan that don't work. If the d stays healthy and Bryz is as good as advertized..we should be ok.

I laughed at reading the Phoenix Gm (I think it's maloney) say that Phoenix plays a system that makes a goalie look good and he didn't know if he could handle the pressure in Philly. Um..guy.. when all are healthy, we have one heck of a D corps that can make him look even better!

I'm sure. 3 Rivers is a nice area. What kind of crowds do they get?

Nothing like Philadelphia, at least not when I was there a few years ago. Attendance has increased with recent success, but it's still, you know, the Pirates.

It all depends on Schenn and Couturier. If they meet expectations, then were in good shape. As far as D goes, it's a team game. I have worries about the FLyers overall team defense. They lost two pretty solid 2 way players, and have a weakness at Center in my opinion. I also believe the Flyers should be a playoff team. And from there anything goes.

Well, that crowd atmosphere is a big part of the whole experience at CBP. That's what makes it arguably the best ballpark right now.

CBP great place to see a game...although otherwise noted...i have a package in section 102...great seats. The view is great all the way around. the only negative is not seeing the right field fence catches. the seats are right next to the bullpen with plenty of chances to catch HR balls and bullpen baseballs.

Yeah. Sounds like an upset GM who couldnt keep a goalie that he liked. Bottom line is Bryzgalov knows he has no chance of winning a cup in Phoenix. They may be an average team or even make the playoffs but there nowhere near ready to take on the elite in the Western Conference.

Have to agree. Hopefully Schenn and Couturier will meet expectations. There defense should be solid again this season as well. You back that up with Bryzgalov and your pretty strong in my opinion. I think knowing you have a goalie like him between the pipes helps take pressure off of the defenseman. They dont have to worry about making mistakes or forcing the puck, which tends to lead to more turnovers. Its alot easier when you know you have a guy who can bail you out incase a mistake is made. I think thats important b/c its almost impossible to play flawless hockey every single night.

The fact that Sidney Crosby is still battling symptoms is a concern for concussion expert Dr. Julian Bailes.
"I would classify it as prolonged post-concussion syndrome," said Bailes, who is the Head of Neurosurgery at WVU School of Medicine. "This has lasted for a long time. This is a severe concussion he is dealing with." The idea that he suffered two concussions during a four-day span in January was brought up as well and Bailes said that might be a good theory. However, all this speculation may be unfounded if Crosby can participate in Pittsburgh's training camp and get cleared for contact. "He's pushed himself pretty hard this summer, which is the good news," GM Ray Shero said. "He's never had to get to the point where he's had to shut himself down or anything." We'll provide more updates as they become available.

God. This is freaking me out. 27 seems like the number to die at...
My goal for if I am a pro athlete, or celebrity, will be to make it past the age of 27. Then I should be fine.

My strategy, if I'd been famous, was to never get on a small plane. Not as many of those as there used to be though.

If Crosby plays half a season this year, gets drilled again, and then promptly retires? Hall of Fame?

I found it too small. Great view. But I was there on a rare sellout night and the concourses were oppressively crowded. A bit cattle drive scary at the end of the game.

Good question. It would be hard to keep him out when you look at his numbers based off of his previous years and throw in a stanley cup. I dont know what criteria the HOF uses to get him in.

Yeah, I agree with your assessment. I see Schenn making the team and maybe being a 40 point guy. Anything more is gravy. I'd be SOO worried if Couturier makes the team because we rushed him. I think he was a steal at the draft but no need to rush. We have clearly changed gears as a team and no need to throw a monkey wrench into it by rushing players. I have a gut feeling we'll be pleasantly surprised with Bryz.

Because he hasn't followed the guidelines both Dr. Karen Johnston and Dr. James Kelly, widely acknowledged as the best in the biz on concussions, give about stopping activity immediately upon resumption of symptoms, apparently. Hope he's ok. Not feeling optimistic.

It's terrifying watching 24/7 and realizing he's not okay. Pittsburgh medical staff should be ashamed--and I can't stand the guy.

I cannot see any way that they make the playoffs in the west without elite tending. I love the sour grapes though from phoenix. if Bryz repeats what he did two years ago with us, and has a solid playoffs, we could be a suprise in the East.
