i do not condone animal cruelty of any kind and dont have any info on how this snake came about his decapitation, but if a copperhead was coming at my ankles i'd probably throw the sharpest thing i could find at it

All have eye infections requiring 3 sets of drops 4x a day and 2 pills.... that's a giant pain in the ass.

Other than that, they're great. Not hiding, have full run of the house, like to snuggle and watch TV. 3 great fun sweet cats!

They tend to freeze if anything, not likely they'd go for your ankles lol. If I saw one on my property I'd likely just leave it alone and watch where I'm going for a while.

With that said when people have dogs and cats or small children running around I can understand the concern. I'd probably try to capture it somehow and release it far away but I guess that's just me.

I would just stay as far away from it as i could, and instruct children to do the same...

Used to find and bring home Garter snakes in my hockey lunchbox after school. They nip at you a little but are harmless. Watch them for a bit and then let them go in garden.

I've only ever been bitten by a snake once and I've handled many wild ones, though non were venomous. I probably deserved many more bites. It was a garter snake too so it was unexpected and funny. A lot of snakes smell pretty bad though lol.

Have to give Claude Lemieux a shot there twice a day. Not many nerve endings in the scruff. He doesn't even flinch. It is also the way a mom cat picks up a little cat. So probably not painful. Maybe has the same effect putting a leash on a cat does. They just lie down and look at you like WTF?

I'd imagine its an evolutionary benefit to freeze when you get a pinch on the back of the neck so you don't squirm away and mommy drops you...

I can't imagine trying a leash on these three... I do grab 'em by the scruff when I need them to calm down... but it's a bit inconsistent.
