on foot if the owner seems to revel in my obvious joy i'll ask if i can pet the dog. most people you can tell just wanna be left alone so 99.999% of the time i leave 'em alone. i can't not smile when i see a dog though. it's physically impossible, i've tried.

it breaks my heart that i can't have one here. someday when i upgrade to a bigger house i'm definitely getting a dog.

i guess i'm ready to talk about this spider now.

2 nights ago i was plugging in my laptop on my nightstand or whatever you call that and saw the biggest spider in the history of my HOMOwnership. it took me a second to process that it was even real.

in that moment all of my many maladies subsided like when a young child lifts a car off their mother. i grabbed my bed by the box spring and threw it across the room and even though i know i'm not supposed to, and that daeth is going to yell at me, i had to kill this thing before it killed me first. this was war.

anyway, when the smoke cleared and i came to i found my bed all the way across the room by my dresser and door and 6 lbs of dead spider where it used to be.

i turned on every light in the house before trying to go back to sleep and even last night i slept with the lights on in my room.

i can't even believe i have to burn my house down.

i guess i'm ready to talk about this spider now.

first guess would be an especially dark wolf spider

could also be a dark hacklemesh weaver or if you're super unlucky a dark coloured dock spider (dolomedes) or some poop. never seen one of those inside a house though, THANK (frank).

I think I deleted the photo, but I met a dock buddy on out in the boonies that was the size of my fist. I was laying on the deck out in the sun, turned my head and went "oh..."

that won't alter reality though. in reality those spiders are everywhere there's water in eastern canada and eastern usa. everywhere. see that huge cliff towering over the lake over there? its full of those spiders. see that outhouse near the dock? yeah there's a few of those spiders in there. see that dock? yeah, you guessed it. nothing but those spiders.

I've faced down a black widow on my leg when on vacation in Florida. Dock spiders don't scare me anymore. Also faced down three coral snakes on a bike
