we have, but rarely see, cardinals and blue jays. at least where i'm at. so it always sticks out when i do see one and i stop to check them out.

cardinals are often a daily thing, depends if i'm hanging out in my yard or not. at minimum i hear them every day. there are a few trees they love hanging out in. we can hear blue jays once in a while but they don't really hang out much it seems so they are more rare.

it was the complete opposite where i grew up as a little kid. i was in the ontario version of bingoville and cardinals were super rare but jays were a daily thing. i even caught one with my bare hands once as a youngin lol. beautiful birds.

i'll see a cardinal like 10 times a year. that's it. and i'll be lucky to see 4 blue jays.

i'm pretty sure there are parts of south jersey (the wide open parts, farther south) where you can see them almost every day. but not here. we've eradicated a lot of that nature here with shopping areas and condos.
