I still play from time to time. I introduced my son into the hobby around the time his mom got sick, before she passed away. So, we play every now and then.

My only hiatus was from 1990-2000 while I was at college and my brother was in the USMC. He came home and we got our sister playing.

(letting my geek show) I received the first Driz'zt trilogy as a gift but barely read the first book. As an AD&D player who preferred Greyhawk and hated the GH elements that were ported over (stolen) to FR after 1985, I loathe the Forgotten Realms. I did like what I read I just couldn't overcome the fact that the Underdark started in GH and much preferred Gary Gygax's own Gord the Rogue series of books. I re-read that series last year.

You're shooting yourself in the foot. The rest of the series after the first trilogy admittedly turns into mostly swashbuckler type stories but the first three books are well worth the read. Gygax is an overrated hack.

I disagree. The Gord series ain't prize-worthy, but it plays to his audience from the RPG community.

In Piedmont, CA there is a place called Dr. Comics and Mr. Games. Jeanie works there, will laugh at your admiration of Kirkman (etc) and explain why you suck at nerddom while she consumes her 3rd rye on the rocks over pinball games and mastodon records. All that, and she's easy on the eyes, too.

Just sayin, accept no substitutes.

Munn is a smokeshow, though.
