Wont give him a shot? Gay, fabulously so, can actually sing. You never know. He might be alright.

If I can give William Duvall a fair shot, well....

the fact is we're talking about freddie mercury.

i'm no huge queen fan but i like the songs i know and do know enough about them that i feel like you don't replace freddie mercury. just the way i feel anyway.

I felt the same about Layne Staley. Mainly because out of the grunge era big 3, him and Cornell could actually sing. I resisted for a while, then relented, then accepted. Still think Dirt will never ever be touched but I dig their new material. You must have grown to like Audioslave a bit after a while....right?

Outshine came on while I was driving around today. I opened the sunroof and shamelessly rocked out. Made me wish I had a joint to smoke.

Teenagers in ill fitting clothing looked at me funny. I just smiled because they were driving in cars worth less than my mortgage payment.

Exactly.

I am not a Queen fan at all. But I remember watching Live Aid and seeing that band steal that show. From that day on, I knew nobody could ever replace Freddie Mercury.

facelift, really? that's interesting. i've always wondered how real hardcore fans of the band felt about that cd. i probably go dirt, jof, facelift.

edit: actually i really liked the self titled one too. don't know how people felt about that one.

I liked Facelift for it's kind of unpolished nature. Same reasoning why I always felt Bleach was Nirvanas best. Once they started being taken seriously it was all downhill.

Plus, Man In The Box and Sea Of Sorrow are two of my absolute faves. MITB might be my all time fav AIC song.

Yeah it was cool. Heaven Beside You is a fantastic song. The only album where Staley wrote the majority of the material..uh, even though Cantrell wrote the song I just mentioned. Sad that he was halfway to the grave at that point.

Bunch of old wankers congratulating themselves with every over-rehearsed stale note, and a guy whose idea of adding his only piece of soul to a legend's music is apparently mimicking the sound of a missed key on a (frank)ing bagpipe.

No thanks.
