yes but if I understand properly (which I clearly don't or else I would not be posting in this thread haha that would be stupid) then if they are in a tight race to the imaginary line then the linesman can let them go all the way. so the situation they wish to avoid remains?

yes. i think they're just trying to avoid the plays where it's clear that the guy can't win the race so he goes barreling into the player still thinking he can win the race or just hoping to make him miss the puck by smashing him.

i'm sure asswipe will come tell us what the real deal is.

You're absoloutley correct, "Hurricane" Sandy weakened as it approached land fall and was an "extra-tropical cyclone" when it hit the eastern seaboard..............But that did now stop the left wing progressive "Man made global warming" cheerleaders from branding it "Super Storm" Sandy and continues to call it a hurricane.

http://www.livescience.co...ane-landfall-drought.html

The United States hasn't been any stranger to hurricanes in the last eight years. Hurricane Sandy, for example, caused about $50 billion in damage and was responsible for more than 150 U.S. deaths last year, although the storm was technically an extra-tropical cyclone when it hit.

But surprisingly, not a single major hurricane, defined as a Category 3 storm or higher on the Saffir-Simpson scale —with minimum wind gusts of at least 111 mph (178 km/h) — has directly hit the United States in nearly eight years. That's twice as long as any major hurricane landfall "drought" since 1915, and by far the longest on record since data began being collected prior to 1900. As of today (Sept. 12), it's been 2,880 days since Hurricane Wilma, the last major hurricane to strike the United States, made landfall on Oct. 24, 2005.

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/pdf/sshws.pdf

Category One Hurricane the lowest has to have sustained winds 74-95 mph, 64-82 kt, or 119-153 km/h to remain a "Hurricane", if wind speeds drop below that, it no longer categorized as a Hurricane
