yeah the camaros are faster now i think but i like the sleeker looks of the mustang.

the camaros were better looking to me as a kid because mustangs were those little fox body hatchbacks but then 1993 happened and everything was ugly.

eventually god realized what we had done and he took the camaro and firebird away, yelling down in a booming voice "this is why you can't have nice things!"

in the meantime mustangs got weird and somehow even uglier. they eventually upgraded the weird ugly mustang to a sharper, pointy ugly mustang and that still sucked. finally they went retro and although it was pretty terrible at first it finally evolved into what it is now and for the first time in a long time i think it's beautiful.

within the timeframe of this retro revival, the camaro and the dodge challenger also came back to fight things out and things are finally back where they were before i was born when muscle cars were fighting it out at drag strips. and if i was alive back then i can tell from the pictures i would have chose mustangs. so i think it's all come full circle and i feel good.

i spend an inordinate amount of time getting wasted and watching old car review videos and i'm always amazed by the 80's and how the fuel shortage and all from a few years prior had us making mustangs and chargers with like 110 horsepower.

i don't need to do 190 mph but if i'm in a dodge charger i expect to be able to merge onto a highway pretty trouble free.

yeah the new regulations really (frank)ed our cars up bad in the 80s. i will never understand how they managed to get a 5L V8 to produce like 150 bhp in the late 80s. you've got pens with more horsepower these days.

back then buick was the luxury car people bought who couldn't afford cadillacs.

we eventually moved on up to the east side and did own a few cadillacs.

they do look cool but what i was watching were like bmw's and hyundai velosters and mustangs and porsches that all looked fairly normal except for the wacky paint jobs and sponsor tags on them. there were all different classes racing at once so there was a lot of passing and stuff. it was cool.
