Yeah, that sounds about right. The cards had pictures of him as a kid, with Gordie Howe and stuff like that. Good for you to have the uncut sheet. I visited Neilson's with my dad and I saw the stock of cards they had being stored there. Hundreds and hundreds of boxes of them waiting to be shipped. I ended up with a few sets anyways but I must have misplaced them and haven't seen them in years.

I think there is a picture with him, Howe and Bossy. A couple of action shots and one of him with all his trophies.

Those are the only ones I remember anyway. It's in storage back east and didn't make the move North with me.

3. That game 3-3 tie with Habs who were defending champs before Oilers ever made it to play-offs was best game ever.

7. My son has made a number of saves off John Tavares (Tavares and some OHL/NCAA buddies rented ice in Oakville last summer to get ready for season. Their goalie didn't show up. My son (14 at the time) was taking goalie lessons in the complex and was asked to join them. He was terrified but did it. Was able to make some saves and will always be able to say he stopped Tavares.

9. My parents met after my mom chirped my dad who had just dislocated his shoulder in a hockey game. This pretty well set the tone for their marriage.
10. I watched Gordie Howe spend an afternoon walking around a charity event with a young retarded boy holding onto his leg. Gordie never made any attempt to pull the kid off him.
11. I grew up in Ottawa before the Sens so was a Habs fan. Have pretty well grown out of it.
12. As a coach, have been tossed from a game for "disputing a call". It was so much more and so worth it.
13. Was driving through northern Alberta in 1972 with my dad and brother listening to final game of Canada-Russia game on the radio. Had to pull over for the final period. We all screamed and jumped around in the middle of nowhere after Henderson scored.
14. Don't care about fighting in NHL - not sure it adds much to the game but silly to go on and on about outlawing it.
15. Got a real kick seeing Burke take Berger apart and laugh to see Berger on OTR as the celeb who took on Burke.

I have one more to add.

This new years I played in a tournement with my Rookie League. I had a game at 8AM that I thought was at 7, so i got the rink over an hour early so I dressed and headed out.

One of the best feelings I ever had was skating around that empty arena, most of the lights off and a fresh clean sheet of ice.

I love 99.999% of my patrons, but I am sorry if I don't love the ones who live their lives to be negative and walk around with their beer muscles on spouting off lies about me. Am I supposed to love them as well? There is a respect rule around here and there are also basic societal norms. This is a fantastic thread, and I am getting deluged with emails to ban some of these people for life so that a dozen people don't ruin what thousands are enjoying. Last I will say. I know that you should never feed a troll, but for you to make a statement that I HATE my patrons is the most ludicrous statement imaginable. I should ignore it, but it is just so ridiculous.

Oh don't worry. I still have tons of junk (or so my wife thinks)... Toronto Blue Jays All-Star Game Lamp from the '91 All-Star game at Skydome! It's on my desk at work. LOL

When we move back home it's going up in the man room with my other sports "junk"/Prized possessions.
