... And we try to stay away from the breadsticks... weight-wise.

Actually, the soup is good -- I get the Pasta Fazool -- and the Salad, while not great is a decent inclusion when not going with the soup. I more often than not order the Eggplant Parm and when I make sure to get additional sauce/gravy it is fine and I enjoy it and the spaghetti... Many of their dishes are decent for the very cheap price.

That said, we enjoy Carabba's where the Aussie Owned Restaurant does an excellent job with the Italian Cuisine... and not really all that much more in cost, but certainly not as reasonable as OG... It is a better chain by far.

We stay away from chains and go to locally owned and smaller operation (family) Italian Restaurants when we want to step up in quality... and have the time to spare at dinner.

yeah Carabbas can be pretty damn good

he is in lockdown.

it may be best for all concerned to wait for him to contact us during a break, lest we get berated and possibly d2h.

there used to be a place that was actually attached to the deptford mall that we ate at just about every thursday night when i was a kid.

maybe it's just because i was young but i remember it being fantastic.

it was called la dolce vita and i was fanatical about the veal parm. the mussels red was also out of this world.

they had a pizza place out front too if you wanted to go that route but we always ate in the restaurant.

i hope this counts as a cool story bro type of situation.

- kicksave856

Coolest of the cool bro types, Bro.

That sounds so familiar... and I'm so familiar with he Deptford Mall... Please define attached? I'm sure you don't mean in the Mall... by the sounds of how it is described here... Do you mean one of the buildings in the surrounding Area that is not associated with the Mall, but is there taking advantage of the Shopping Area... like Bonefish Grille?

I can picture a marque in front of a Pizza Parlor... but dammit, Kicks that name/term is soooooo common.

the pizza place had an entrance from the outside and the main entrance to the restaurant was actually in the mall. it was right on the end of one of those little corridors that jut out by a foyer to the parking lot.

it was weird because it wasn't like a ruby tuesday's or a scotto's pizza or some weak chain type place. it was an honest-to-god fancy shmancy restaurant that just happened to be in the mall.

Collene Bauman Steve Still, yes it was La Dolce Vita.... I worked there in the summer of '75 before I went to work at Farrell' Ice Cream Parlour, on the lower level of the mall. La Dolce Vita was on the upper level, right next to Sears.

Deptford, according to Wiki. Deptford is my neck of the woods. I used to work at a pizzeria/Italian restaurant, "La Dolce Vita," in the Deptford Mall ... although that was about 15-20 years later.

I totally forgot those fountains.

... At least the Deptford Mall kept their clientele and didn't make any untimely and ill-conceived expansion like another nearby Mall that shall remain nameless. (((COUGHCOUGHEchlonMallCOUGHCOUGH)))

But they also had a large advantage of Route 42, Blackhorse Pike and various other converging main arteries that leads people to it... The nameless Mall that is now a shrunken Town Center-ish tiny thing has basically a lesser used Whitehorse Pike in the vicinity and the Hi-Speed-Line kinda, sorta a looong walk away.

... So much for South Jersey Mall Memory Lane visits.
