interesting... you must have young children 5 and 1 who enjoy pasta but not too spicy and therefore you cook sauce but add some spice to it afterwards via hot sauce.

I do mean flakes, it is the only acceptable way to add spice to red gravy when spice is not cooked into the recipe, imo

agreed. pepper flakes are the only allowable form of heat when it comes to a plate full of pasta.

i've actually slapped a shaker of cayenne pepper out of a few people's hands.
