Brisebois looks like Lidstrom out there compared to O`Byrne. Take that for what it`s worth but I think O`Byrne should not play (unless in Hamilton) for awhile.
Reasons: to protect him; he`s a defensive liability playing with no confidence; Habs are supposed to have a tremendous depth chart of young defensemen, they should give someone else a shot (with a shot); I`m not sure exactly how this works, but his 940,000 contract can be used somewhere else; And, if he`s going to develop into a solid defenseman he should be playing in Hamilton and not sitting in the pressbox. He`s 24 years old, sending him down to the AHL doesn`t mean they`re giving up.
I like Plekanec on the third line, for reasons previously stated (face-offs, PK, hard-work, defense), his play this year fits a third line centre role. He also still gets ample icetime and his linemates can forecheck. |

I read (for what it's worth) that Fletcher wanted grabovsky if sundin would've signed.
Since it didn't work out, he managed to get him otherwise - _jeff_

I can live with O'Byrnes mistakes as they are from inexperience not lack of effort. What's brisebois excuse? |

As much as i hate Briesbois, he hasn't been as bad this year as in the past. Of course i don't want him on the team and i cried every time he put pen to paper with the Habs. I guess as a 7th d-man for 700K is alright. Obviously with Komi injured, O'Bynre not developing the way we hoped and Valentenko having a poor camp and flying home to Russia ... we really don't have a choice. |

Brisebois' puck moving ability, and the fact that he has had 18 years to memorize the correct thing to do in NHL situations, make him a perfectly good 7th D at that price. Not saying he never makes mistakes, but they are almost exclusively the result of shying away form the heavy going and you can't ask everything of a 7th D at 700 000 $. |

I'm hoping the Habs wake up tonight and have the game won by the 2nd period so i could watch the Flames/Avery game. Avery threw a shot at Phaneuf saying he doesn't know what's with guys taking his sloppy seconds.
I can't wait |

i'm not upset with the contract or role on the team. its just upsetting that he hasn't been used as the 7th d-man. For reasons having nothing to do with him. |

I'd like to see an ass-whooping. I'm going to be there tonight and I've never seen a true ass-whooping. Except the wrong way around: I saw Buffalo beat us at the old forum in about 94 or 95 8-0 and the 8th goal was set up on a 2 on 1 by Mogilny with his skates having lost his stick.... |

Well I am no contract expect, call me Brian Burke or something, but doesnt Brisebois make 1.5 mil.
I would have been fine with not signing Brisebois and have Dandenault start the year as a 7th D, considering he already had a contract. |

I paid a ridiculous amount of money to see Game 5 vs Boston last year. |

you guys realize that Grabovsky was traded to TO for the rights to talk to Sundin before July 1st.........right????? - pete26
Mister you definitely know your poop.
Alot habs fan don't know and the leafs refuse to believe. A promise between GMs and by respect Gainey had to give Grabvoski. If sundin became a hab toronto would not gave 2nd round pick for Grabvosky...

Ya i know. I don't think i've ever seen a whopping when i've gone to watch the games. I usually go watch when they play the Leafs or Sabres and those games are usually close. I've also seen a couple of Boston games they won just not a whopping.
i think the only whopping i've ever seen live was when i went to the ACC to watch the leafs vs canes last year. the leafs lost that game 7-1 . i already had crazy seats. Platniums 10 rows up center ice. but since the game was out of hand by the 2nd period i had glass seats. |

he signed for 750k ... but with performance bonuses he could make 1.5M if i'm not mistaken. and yes i would of rather had Dandy as our 7th d-man than breeze-by |
