Score made it seem much closer than it was. we played a good game for 55 mins. I don't know how we start the game playing a 1-4 trap but when were leading 3-0 we don't? Anyways after sweating it out for no reason we came away with the 2 points and i guess thats all that matters.

Get ready for the next 2 games of 2-1 and 1-0 score lines. the habs 1-4 vs the rangers 2-3 followed by the habs 1-4 vs the devils 0-5. But if they get the results i'll be happy.

Power Play 1/3 ... were moving on up

- 100/25= The Habs

It was Laraque. What a useless pos. I can't stand him.
- asp1986

Harsh...I thought he played decent other than the goof on the missed shift...that line dropped some big hits and put AtL on their heels more than once. Other teams seem a little more nervous when he's on the ice. By no means our best 4th liner...but undeserving of any serious hate either.

The usual lack of 60 mins I suppose. Some good signs to be sure, but deflating to almost let it slip away like that against this team.

It's not serious hate. I just don't like the way he slows down the 4th line.
He's not worth the 1.5 mil. per year he's getting. Not even close.

Maybe he didn't jump on the ice, so as not to slow them down???

We've got a few guys that aren't worth their paycheck at times...I definately don't like to see him on the ice when that line is bottled up in it's own zone...he did have a couple of nice outlet passes last night though...who knows maybe we can get him to play the point on our pp...

I was at the game last night, and honestly, they came out so flat in the third it was ridiculous... It was just a matter of time before the Thrashers scored, you could clearly feel it by the way they were playing.

I really don't understand why they completely changed their style of play in the 3rd period. Will they ever learn that you can't win if you don't play the full game? They are frustrating to watch, and were lucky to win last night.

Good god, it was the Thrashers!

Yeah, I've been at games when that feeling is palpable, and you just know what's coming.
By the way, is it time for my daily 'I hate Brisebois, why is he playing, and if playing, why is he anywhere near the ice at the end of games" rant?

I don't hate Brisebois but he sure struggled on the PP last night. Crappy passes and poor decisions.

He played a great game on saturday though...

I can't say he was great Saturday. Perhaps less crappy. Yesterday, he gave away the puck several times, or shot it into pads or sticks as per usual. And he was beaten severely on the fourth goal. I'm sorry, but he just does not belong.

except for the bomb pass up the middle Briesbois continues to disapoint. Dandy on the other hand, who I thought was useless before the season started continues to surprise. He seems to be getting better each game from the back end. Depth is a good thing.

And just to remain fair and balanced I thought Kovalev had a good game and was slowed down by Lang.

I totally agree with Dandy. He has been very good on the 3rd pairing for two games, and he is a good guy to keep around to be sure. Unless they need to dump him for cap space.
Lang is REALLY slow! And did he need to touch that puck? The DMan tipped it anyhow, so it would have gone in.

I watched that play over and over again and I just didn't see Lang touch it. But when he was asked about he said he tipped it. It was kinda strange. I like Lang, but his ice time needs to be controlled.

Pierre asked him on the spot and he said yes, but it was tough to catch in the replay. Maybe he felt the DMan's stick and assumed the puck touched his stick as well. He can't be the top of the umbrella guy on the PP. He doesn't have the shot. Dunno why Large Rack wasn't there again last night.

I was lucky enough to be at the Bell Centre last night and I was wondering if the Tanguay goal was good or not, i wasn't able to see the replay on tv. Same question about Hainsey's 2nd goal?

well AK46 is working hard that's a good sign, Kovy showed signs of life. Overall the effort was ok. But geez their timing is so off, so many passes that miss, receptions that are bad, shots that are constantly blocked or miss the net and worst of all, their gameplay, its always a game around the boards and behind the net, i dont know but it seems to me logical to me that the odds are better to score if the puck is in front of the net. It's easy for the defending team, let them run the puck on the boards, block the middle lane for passes or shots and bingo. I think its time to change the gameplan, leave AK46 at the point on the PP, bring Weber & sit Brisebois (horrible giveaways last night) and go back to the what made your PP succesfull the past two years. I love Markov but he shouldnt be the go to guy on the PP to shoot, he's more of a playmaker.

Hainsey's second goal clearly looked across the line from one angle. As for Tanguay, there was some interference, but it appeared to me that Hedberg was able to get back into position. If you aren't calling a penalty, why waive it off?

Hainsey goal is still a question mark for me, but based on the rules I don't have a problem with them counting it. As for Tanguays goal Hedberg should have been called for interfierence. He wrapped his legs around Lapierre.

And they'll waive off a goal on goalie interference without giving a penalty if they feel it was incidental. I've seen it a few times.

I've seen that a few times, i think when a player gets pushed into the goalie or if a goalie gets out of his box and is interfered with. i dont know

Oh, I've seen it, I just don't like the rule.
As for Tanguay, the upstairs angle showed nothing. But the one from the slot appeared to indicate that the entire puck was over the line. In any case, Hainsey should have been on his ass at that point.

Maybe, but when you consider Kovalev is probably not coming back next year, Halak will always be a backup here and that Chipchura seems to be out of the plans, maybe not.

EDIT: Who will sign Kovy next year?

That little stretch when ATL tied up the game is indicative of the problems so far this season (The fact the we think there's problems makes me laugh but that's another story) There's times when Mtl plays like they're entitled. It's almost as bad as some fans on this site. I read one guy the other day say "Before the season I was certain we'd win the cup. Now I'm less sure" And that's what I see from the habs. There's times they stop playing as if the game is guaranteed.
