Ryan Howard said the days off do help, but Charlie Manuel made it clear he's not a fan of benching his best players.

"If you give somebody $5 million to $25 million, there's a reason why you give that guy that money," Manuel said. "You don't give him that money to sit on the bench. When you sign on it's like going to work. I expect you to play. If you're hurt or something like that, then evidently, you can't play. I don't have to like it when you get hurt.
