You run across a guy you think needs psychiatric care and your impulse is to belittle him? I just don’t understand your level of anger here. To be fair I don’t understand the level of anger of many people here.

That is a fair question. There are 2 reasons.

1. Personal: I genuinely believe the guy needs psychiatric attention, and I really believe that an active intervention is required. If in some admittedly very low probability way my saying it repeatedly brings that about, that is the hope. Many look the other way, I tend to stick my neck out. I am not saying that is necessarily better.

2. Institutional: The guy has issues which far predate friction with me. He has received more bans than the next 10 guys combined. Now there is sadly no moderation, and look at the result. There is endless conflict of the most banal sort, and while he is not the only common factor, he is the biggest one. Again, the very low probability hope is that my saying so repeatedly will bring about some results.

I’m not trying to be confrontational here and I’m not putting you down, but aren’t you just as guilty of snobbery as he is? You don’t got to the extreme of sharing your resume with everyone, but you do spend plenty of time telling us all how smart you are. I totally respect your hockey knowledge. You’re obviously a bright guy and so is PT. Who cares what your backgrounds are. We’re all old farts. Isnt time we stop acting like teenagers?

Did you go the "extremes of sharing your resume" when you mentioned that 1. You were a commercial photpographer and 2. You worked on the set of at least 1 professional tv show? Because I suck at photoshop and I suck at taking pitctures and I feel threatened by you brandishing those facts.

What I mention about myself is almost always a natural corollary of the discussion or when prompted. It is not gratuitous.
