Hurricanes with another failure in the post season. Necas, Aho, Guenztel, Burns, Orlov, Jarvis, Teuro, Svechnikov, Slavin. With good depth guys like Noesen and Staal. That Chatfield is another decent player too. A team that was one of the favorites to win it all. Rod is entering Toronto category here. |

He should wait out until season is over then see what/if the leafs offer him to coach.
maybe just the rangers are the better team. wasn't someone saying rangers rebuild wasnt working or they moved to fast with it? something to that extent as dont remember the exact wording. |

The issue with Carolina is they have to win games in regulation, because if they go into OT with a team with like the Rangers and all that individual talent, it's going to be hard to win. It just takes one great play by elite players to end the game. Carolina has good players, even all-star players as you listed, but they don't have elite talent and this is where it shows the most. |

They have more than enough talent, they haven’t gotten the job done. GM went out and got Kuzy and Guenztel as well; enough with the excuses. |

Lol who was that? Shesterkin has been phenomenal. 6-7 years in a row not getting the job done while having a very strong group. |

The Canes are basically the mid to late 90s Flyers. Talent throughout the lineup but saddled with average goaltending.
Flip the starting goalies and the Canes would be up 3-0. |

Not necessarily but I would say Shesterkin won them at least one and arguably two.
Let's not celebrate the Rangers just yet. They haven't won anything during the "rebuild".

yes he is on fire at the moment. no doubt he has been their mvp arguably.
goalie isnt the main issue for the canes imo. |

Directly? No, but Shesterkin has significantly outplayed him and he pretty much stole game 2 for the Rags. Let me ask you a question, do you think the Canes are still down 3-0 if the starting goalies were reversed? |

agree he has 100%.
probably not though Shesterkin is the better goalie, on another level.
Just to me the canes are not losing because their goalies have failed them is all. |

Special teams are the reason and the fact that Carolina is a little soft and can’t outskill the Rangers. |

What’s the Canes PP in the series, where’s the coach there? Saying switch the goalies is beyond stupid. Time after time the hurricanes have failed to score when they need it most. But Rod is the best… |

The don’t get to the net enough to succeed in the playoffs. They are a perimeter team. |

So the games so far in this series have been 4-3, 4-3 2OT and 3-2. How has the Rangers goalie been better than the Canes goalie? I understand Carolina has had many more shots on goal, but that can be a very misleading stat. In last night's game 5v5 the scoring chances for both teams where even 17 to 17.

The goaltending is killing the Canes while the Rags goalie has been stellar, but let's complicate thing to make ourselves look smarter. Eh what? |

It was scored in the middle of the net cause the goalie totally lost his net. Look at the shot disparity in the series, and take a deeper look at slot shots and scoring chances. It's not even close. If goaltending isn't the issue why did Carolina change goalies going into a must win game 3? You're simply wrong, but that's nothing new. |

I believe the biggest difference between the Rags and Canes is what they are drinking on the bench. The Rags have a 3.78 to 1 advantage in electrolytes ratio and right now the Canes can not overcome it.
