I have better things to do. lol
he'll change his approach or eventually lose his job. not my problem.
almost every teams play zone defense. maybe MSL knows better than all these coaches?

- fidopro

Maybe he does. If you do everything like everyone else, you're never the best at anything.

So far his team has performed exactly as everyone predicted they would. No better, no less.

Sounds like a man doing things exactly has planned to me.

and it's a known fact that NHL coaches only refer to ONE defensive structure, there's no way teams ever change it up during the course of a game. these guys are pros but they're not machines, it's one or the other. you have to choose wisely, MSL has chosen poorly, and will eventually get fired for it.

Anyone know if zone or man-to-man defence is better?

Lots of questions about this...

I'll have to disagree with you on that one. they finished 28th, exact same spot as last year. had they played zone defense all year I'd bet they would have finished higher in the standings, a bit like PHI did. aren't you tired of these 2nd period cluster(frank)s in the dzone?
there's not one expert on tv who agrees with this style of play. not one.
the only good news... we'll draft top5 again.

We finished at the same spot but got more points while seeing our young players improve.

And I wouldn't trade the Habs season for the Flyers, so I guess it's a good thing Marty did what he did how he did it after all.

Look I think we can all agree that Hughes and Gorton are smart managers, if St-Louis's tactics were so obviously flawed, they'd insist on a change. So far, they haven't. Which leads me to believe that there are actually smart, knowledgeable people in hockey that approves of what he does.

I'm gonna keep trusting the guys in charge and not listen to P.K. Subban on TV telling me how a player should play responsably in his zone.

like when they judge he doesn't need a vet coach to help him out?
I'll give you that Gorton and Hughes are smart, but maybe they trust their coach a bit too much.
can't wait for camp to open and see if they're still playing the same way. we'll know right there what kind of season they'll have.

Zone defence can just be overload on one side. Man to man is better.
