Whys everyone think Ottawa would love to give us Tkachuk? Doubt they move in in the division.

Kadri and Weegar are old and cost to much for to long.

Is San Jos holding Celery as well? Im not paying a 35 year old Coture 8million to suck for 3 more years.

Bennett and Verhage is maybe the most realistic. But they're bot rentals. Might be able to resign Bennett but Verhage is going to get some dough in FA if he keeps it up.

I highly doubt Tampa moves Cirelli to keep an aging Stammer.

I think FL will find a way to keep Verhaeghe, unless he wants to cash in to highest possible dollar amount, of course. Bennett, as much as I’d hate it, might be a possibility for some kind of deal. There will be some amount of roster pain upcoming for FL.

What really boosts a system is finding mid round picks to develop for several years.

The GM has already conceded that youth, age is irrelevant for the team, they need to win.

I don't understand how everyone can watch the core have career years, regress significantly...then go on to assume a 30 point player is a lock to become a star.

Nobody said that.
However, the pundits are saying the defensemen are better.. none of the top D men last year compare to the first 5+ or so this year.

At 11, Sabres could select from among Lindstrom, Yakemchuk, Eiserman, Iginla...
All would be pretty good... 3 years down the line when the the likes of Peterka, Quinn, Benson, Johnson or whomever is in their last season of a bridge deal and wants mega bucks.

We could make that trade for less IMO. Not many teams(if any other team) can take that contract and hes only got 1 year left.
