The good news is there is virtually nothing holding them back from making the necessary improvements to the roster.

Just like Adams told the players being a young team isn't an excuse anymore since they have a fair amount of experience, well time for Adams to stop making the nobody wants to come here excuse. It is a cover up excuse for a guy who can't close the deal, and that is now soley on him now.

Yup, but you have to agree the feeling about the future of the team immediately after the season last year was , whereas now the feeling is ...that by management.

The point is, Adams realizes it is on his shoulders now, not Donnie's

one thing I will say

the 3 best sabres for plus minus this season

joker, clifton and greenway

I wonder if this plays into bringing joker back and just fixing the forwards this summer

I don't see them bringing in a top 4 D myself.
I think they believe Power's long term partner is on this team, and Byram plays with Dahlin. Now, is that partner Samuelsson, Johnson, Joker?
Personally I see them trying Johnson and Samuelsson there, while the other partners up with Cliffy

It's behind a paywall..what was the essence of the article? Do they project a range for his contract?

The wrinkles here are Lindy + Joker's contract. Those could actually trigger a real change.

Even if they want to add a top 4, can they? It's the type of trade KA has never been able to pull off.

Is Dahlin + Power separated a given? Big new voice in the room, nice not being sure they are going to stick with things that haven't worked.

Without looking, he's a fun idea who you probably can't convince to sign. If you head in to July trying, you're in a world of hurt if you fail. If you succeed, it's going to cause some pain down the road.

Maybe. Not sure he needs leverage.

UFA is a not a place for a big move. They need trades.

if they can get a guy like stamkos w/o giving up prospects, it's a no brainer

then use said prospects to upgrade elsewhere in the roster

I see at least 6 swiss cheese holes in this lineup

On paper, sure. Problem is UFA is effectively at the end of the offseason. That approach doesn't work for Buffalo in the real world.

1. Drafting of Eichel. The man literally ruined the team from within since he debuted.

2. What does Reinhart scoring 57 goals have to do anything with us missing the playoffs? His high with Buffalo was 25 goals.

3. Nylander was a bust.

4. Mittelstadt finally decided to produce when he was 24 years of age.

5. Zadorov was traded to Colorado in a package for ROR who Eichel ran out of town.

6. Quinn barely played in his second season with Buffalo.

7. Rosen, Ostlund, Kulich and Savoie don’t even count on your list as they haven’t even graduated from prospect to the main squad.
We would’ve made the playoffs had Eichel just played the game and not chased Bylsma out of town.

- Jammerz04

Lol imagine blaming Eichel and Reinhart for Buffalos failures.

Two years at $9M per was the idea thrown out there.

No mention of how far you'd bend, when that isn't enough? or what plan B is?

Nope.

Believe the one group had the Stamkos projected next deal to be 3 years at roughly $6.5M per.

Evolving Hockey should have their projections out after the Stanley Cup Final is over.

In 54 games. Context is important, here.

Yes, that's generally when players make the leap.

Probably takes extra years and money to even be in the running. Even then, he's probably got winning on his mind.
