In a heartbeat.

It's Anaheim that wouldn't want anything to do with that imho.

Really ?

I think Mailloux as all the tools, I know he as only one NHL game, but man he COULD be great

and we throw a 1st on top...

not sure they would say no...

Beck wpg first and Xhekaj
- Fredo

They are loaded with LHD, don't need another one.

They want young established centers and RHD is the roomer

Beck fits the need for center (so would Kapanen) but Habs are very weak up up front in terms of prospects.

Fair enough, so it is mesar, anderson and a first that is more a second for Zegras. We all good.

it does but would you rather draft a player like Lindstrom or trade for Zegras, completely different players. With the way the Habs are built, size/grit matter for who they bring in on top of talent.

if they end 5th...I see who is left on the board prior to trading that pick...

Again...some value Zegras a lot more than I do, I see him as a soft perimeter player with amazing offensive talent.

Same here ... he's big and physical plus good RHD's are a scarce resource.
HuGo drafted Reinebachère last year for this very reason.

We are all set on defense ... small forwards are a dime a dozen and we have enough of them already.

No doubt Zegras is very talented but I'd rather have a bigger player ... the Bolts - Panthers series proves that you need more "beefy" players in the playoffs.

That's a fair opinion.

I like Mailloux. I don't WANT to trade him but I don't see us getting a guy as talented as Zegras without giving something interesting.

If Newhook was worth a late first and a 2nd, you have to think Zegras is worth much, much more.

I think there's been talk about him in the media about MTL potentially being interested in signing him but I doubt it, doesn't seem like the right timing and he's gonna ask for a poop ton of money.

Yeah Beck is the only one that could interest another team that could be expendable because I think his ceiling is 3rd line

but he'd be more of a throw in I guess, as he surely doesn't have a whole lot of trade value by himself.

That would be ideal.

Too bad Anaheim already has plenty of LHD.
I think their only decent one coming up is Luneau.

^ This ... not a young one (ie. Reinbacher, Mailloux) at least.

Even though I really like David Savard, I believe he'll be moved next season.
He's still very useful (on ice and off) but his age doesn't fit with what the Habs are building. It might be preferable to get assets before his usefulness goes down as he gets older.

In the end only HuGo have an idea of what they want the Habs to look like in a few years.

I agree about Savard, but I wouldn't mind if he stayed either, especially if Matheson is traded. you need guys like him, strong leadership at a decent salary to support the younger guys on the backend. next year sounds a bit too soon to get rid of that imho.

Savard won't be moved next season.

Why?

Because he'll be too important to move while we're in the playoffs race.
