Brain issues suck so bad… this is literally me this past Thursday before they put me under and installed 17 electrodes through my skull and directly to my brain… kind of funny they had me drugged up enough to get me to smile before the CT scan and surgery tho lol

- Dozzer

Damn man, I know you have been going through hell for a while. Maybe cheering for the Leafs is causing your brain to say (frank) it, I need a reboot from time to time or else he is not listening?

Maybe skynet is getting you ready for the new you?

After this season, they should shop him to Utah, so they have a face of the franchise, or Chicago were he can feather passes to Bedard. He could also be part of deal for Brady Tkachuk, if they are indeed shopping him. Throw in Liljegren, since they're still looking for a right handed defenseman.
- PrinceLH

lol Liljegren isn’t really a Tre type at all.

And I can even admit Marner can pass nicely but he isn’t much without a true stud on his line either…. He’s also a giveaway machine

Hey… I’ll always cheer for the blue and white… won’t always like all of them but so long as they’re wearing that jersey I’ll hope for the best.

Oh!!! I also have this I’m hoping for. My dumbass sister married a bruins fan so of course my 10 year old nephew loves Boston too… but if the leafs take the series he’s already agreed to having to wear a leafs jersey for a day… I’ll hang those f’n pictures in my home on purpose

Try again. He will be 34 next year and 35 to start his next contract. Older than RoR by a couple years come contract time.

Sign cheap or leave.

My guess is he will sign cheap plain and simple. Any GM that doesn’t see this shouldn’t be in the NHL.

You are going on one of your stubborn rants.

Hope he signs back regardless, great leaf.

So you think the kid who died from cancer was on purpose? Come on man. Strange things happen and it sucks that this happened but you can't hold an unknown medical issue against a GM.
- Aaron_85

Nobody likes ripping the Leafs' horrendous drafting over the years, but FFS, this is ludicrous.

Exactly, and he will. Only a fool would offer him a notable amount.

By the time he signs he’ll be a third line winger with very little PP time… try to remember something like that.

If Tavares didn't have a no movement clause, this would be a very insightful post.

Yet here we are.

As far as I'm concerned, Liljegren is a waste of cap space. He's always getting punked out there. He's injured as much as Timmins and he plays scared. He's also making more than twice as much as Timmins. They basically play the same game. So maybe the coach needs to look at Timmins as his replacement on the bottom pair next year.

Marner, just get him out of town. I'm sick of his regular season accomplishments, only to see him disappear in the playoffs. It's obvious that he's made a living off of Matthews. Matthews has been able to adjust his game to play a more physical style of game with his tenacious line-mates. Matthews was tremendous last night and it might have been his greatest playoff game. Boston will be setting their sights on him, so someone else better step up and take advantage to the Bruins 3rd and 4th lines.

Talking about Marner here. There are ways to make his life miserable, so he wants to leave. Give him a home elsewhere with prestige and he might take the bait.

As I mentioned earlier Keefe gets the last line change for the next two games and the leafs have the home ice advantage in the last 5. Huge change when it comes to how Boston can approach things. They go after Matthews all Keefe has to do is send out the fourth line for a true blue physical approach. Boston’s game is going to look a bit different because their line changes won’t control what’s happening near as much.

Thought experiment.

If the Leafs were to lose this series and then went to Tavares and told him the team needed significant change, they were changing the leadership of the team (ie removing the captaincy), that he was going to be 3C next year, not on PP1, but also said they would move him wherever he wanted to go that wanted him, how do you think JT would respond?

No not one bit, my apologies if my typing comes across poorly… I’ve got more brain issues personally than all of you combined (hope so anyways). But he would have been another fancy type who wasn’t overly physical if cancer didn’t take him down. Not the bigger physical type the team needed.

Hence why I wasn’t surprised about Dubas picking him.

- Dozzer

In that case I agree.

However I also think teams covet it and you can trade for dewar and Edmonson way easier than trading for Marner.

I'm guessing that Boston comes out and wants to set the table physically. They'll try to pressure the Leafs into giving up an early goal and they'll trap. Leafs need to go nuclear on the forecheck and start getting after the Bruins defensemen. Make MacAvoy pay for touching the puck and wear him down. Their defense is strong, but now they've lost one to injury. Just get after the defensemen and the forwards will be easier to handle.

Then keep him on the fourth line and let his ass walk after next year if he doesn’t agree to a trade. He’ll give in.

And all Keefe has to do is see which line they put out and respond by putting the line he prefers to use against them.

Boston will try to be tough sure… but if they act too tough they’ll get owned for it due to this.
