At least for me that is going to bring some much higher expectations for him. I don't want to see him being sent down or hear about him trying to adjust to the NA game.
- Glak18

He's still gonna need (a lot) of time to adjust.

The fans just won't have any patience for it.

shocked at the number figured 2 million per.

I’m taking deep breaths and telling myself at least that’s money they wont have to be thrown at even worse signings

I'll reserve judgment until the guy has had a full camp and some preseason games under him.

The AAV is a direct result of his UFA status and the Flyers' desperation in net.

- Tomahawk

I guess it’s not like he’s 21….they do have a pretty good indication of what he is.

Well, it is lower than his GAA, so there's that?

This made me actually laugh out loud.

You gotta figure he'd have some decent offers from Russian teams.

$3M+ is probably the price to keep him in NA.

You have GOT TO BE KIDDING!! The guy has proven nothing and I could have scored on him in the Buffalo game.

I am going to reserve judgement and wait until after he gest a full training camp and the flyers trainers get ahold of him

Highest paid players in KHL make a little over $1 mill/yr. Average is something like $400k.

https://www.markerzone.co.../news/index.php?no=131738

It's fair to assume he'd be making far less than top KHL player salary. Even being the backup on a team at the NHL level would quite possibly be more than he'd make in the KHL.

He got 3M+ because the Flyers had no leverage after the way they handled him, because they love his 6'7" frame and because they'd look like idiots for burning his contract if he walked.

I agree to a point. I’m not really worried about the 1.5 $ difference….it’s more the direction, time line and what the actual plan is. So far they all say the right things, except for Jones’s radio quote…but I see a mixed bag of actions that leave me wondering what the plan actually is.

there is a possibility they are going to resign ej

To me, their actions are in contrast of their words

::looks in his crystal ball:: (this is where Torts missing crystal ball went)

I see a mysterious injury that starts as day to day, then turns into radio silence for months before being out for the year.

Then replace him with whom? Some 35+ retread like Jones or Talbot? Throw even more money at a one-season wonder like Stolarz? Cal Petersen? Trade picks/prospects for somebody?

Throwing money at Fedotov on a shorter term isn't the worst option.

Yes. One year stopgap. Talbot or jones would be fine. I guess it’s not worse case scenario but damn the guy was horrendous

Wow, I was expecting 2-2.5 AAV since he was a UFA.

Right now he is and I would love to keep him, but at the right price.
- jd250

Obviously you have no clue what a face of the franchise player is. You also have no clue what a face of the franchise level player gets paid. If a player is on that level, which Konecny is not close to. You don't get them on the cheap.

You and Landros2 responded to my post at roughly the same time. Your response is not about hockey, it's about picking an argument, while Landros2 responded intelligently and clearly wanted to discuss the situation. You should rethink your strategy.
- jd250

Clearly the content of my post was related to Konecny and his contract situation. I'm not at all surprised that you think that's not hockey related.

Not a fan of the Fedotov deal money wise but also let's see. Have to think there will be more of an even split next season between him and Ersson.

At 2 years I can live with it as they give majority of the Lehigh time to Kosolov.

Don't love it but can deal with it. Just glad it is not something like 5 years. Probably why the money is a little higher since only 2 years.

RP is 25 and signed for 2 seasons. He had a nice season. I am fine with that signing. Seeler should have been traded. They should not resign EJ. If they can find another Walker type on a short term I would be fine with that.

I am not counting on any of the d-men on the Phantoms to make an impression.

Agree to a point here. This is still an overpay for Fedo and we still really have no idea what this guy is at this point. It's 2 years so the term is not really an issue but it is an overpay. If is all comes crashing down we have should be in line for a good draft pick.
