Zero rebounds last 3 mins. How does Hartenstein get that last offensive rebound right under Joel's nose?

Knicks wanted it more.

Gotta dig deep. I know he is injured and hurting. But ...remember Jordan's flu game? That's the standard. You have to be a superstar in these final minutes,

You have to hold superstars to superstar standards is my point. In bb, over the years, so many superstars have done it.

I don't care if he is on a wheelchair. He needs to WILL his team over the finish line. He cannot just run pick and rolls and screens for TM on offensive end. He has to SHUT down the boards on our end.

It's a weak argument to say that I have a bias against Tortorella. It is not bias. It is based on simple facts and observation when it comes to Tortorella. I like the style of play that NJ played under Ruff versus how Tortorella plays. How many times did Ruff healthy scratch Jack Hughes, Hirschier and Luke Hughes when he was in NJ?
- MJL

Ruff didn't healthy scratch those guys because they are actually good players who play well on a consistent basis. I guess in your world, Frosty and Coots (2024 Coots & not Coots of years ago) are right up there with Jack and Nico...only difference is poor Forsty was ruined by Torts and his mind games and Torts has a grudge against Coots because Torts didn't want him to be captain. Go Sabres!

Don't forget how Torts ruined York when he sent him down at the beginning of last season. Looks like the kid's career is ova cause Torts just destroyed his confidence. Nice choke job by the Isles tonight...looks good on them.

You just named 2 1st ovr picks and a 4th ovr pick. Those players don’t exist in the Flyers organization. But Ruff had issues and benched Timo Meier. Meier’s play got better following Ruff’s firing. There’s players and coaches that don’t mesh regardless. The Devils have a better roster than the Flyers and finished below them. Torts got more out of a worse team. Like his style or not, he is the better coach.

But if you want to talk about scratching or benchings, Barry Trotz benched Ovechkin and it helped the Caps. Sometimes that is a necessary approach.

This is such a dumb argument in so many ways! For one thing your boy Frosty couldn't hold any of their jocks. And yet you continue to chortle about not being biased against Torts. Do you actually read what you type?

So I guess this clown is comparing Frost to Jack Hughes and Nico. Frost sat on the bench for the last 30 minutes of the most important game of the season and he deserved it. Torts just wants guys to compete and Frosty seems to pick his spots. Nice choke job by the Isles tonight...looks good on them.

Yes, of course Torts ruined York as well! As for Frosty, he seems like a nice kid and I want him to do well, but comparing him to Jack/Nico is like comparing a hat rack to the Eiffel Tower. I do think Torts relied too much on the muckers, but Frosty had plenty of chances to step it up and didn't when it counted most.

Agreed, I have nothing against Frosty either and I really thought he had turned the corner until his disappearing act at the end of the season. Of course, he wasn't the only one. Agreed about the muckers and grinders as well. My main problem with Torts is that he seems really stuck in his ways and doesn't seem good at making necessary adjustments. Stubborn old mule.

Tortorella uses healthy scratches to an extreme. He also does it with pettiness. Tortorella does that because of his limited tools as a coach. He does not handle young players well. He uses a familiar and repeated pattern with young players. When they inevitable inconsistencies with young players happen. He loses patience quickly. Cuts their ice time, demotes them in the lineup. Instead of coaching them through it, using positive reinforcement and continuing to give them opportunities. He takes away opportunity and degrades their confidence further. To the point where the player just degrades further. It's poor old school tactics and many in the Flyers fan base buy that nonsense. It also ties in with Tortorella's preference for certain types of players. A perfect example is the last must win game of the season. Where after basically one period, Tortorella benches Frost and Brink and plays Poehling 19 minutes as his #1 center. I'm shocked that they lost and only scored one goal. Sometimes it can be a necessary approach but it's not sometimes with Tortorella. It's his only approach. That's why he is a poor player development coach. I pray that Tortorella is not the coach when Mitchkov gets here.

You have to make plays in the key moments of the games. In tight games with the clock ticking down. The Sixers didn't. Embiid is a great player but if he wants to be the superstar he supposedly is. He has to own the game at that point. With 30 seconds left, the Knicks hit two 3 pointers, pulled down a big rebound and blocked a shot.

Post #8 on the day of you replying directly to me. After posting a few days ago that you don't read most of my posts. Admit that you're full of poop.

Anyone thinking that I was comparing any player on the Flyers to any player on the Devils, is a stone cold idiot. I have zero bias against Tortorella. My criticisms of Tortorella are based on facts and observations. None of which are unfair.

Your posts are just childish hyperbole and rhetoric that show that you don't have the intelligence to make or articulate a counter point in reply. That and your obvious flat out lie that you don't read most of my posts shows that you have zero credibility. I humor you for just that reason. The entertainment of watching you make a fool of yourself on a daily basis.

Personally, I think this is way too low. This is TK's chance to cash in on a long term deal. His AAV is going to ne north of 8.5M.
- Flyfly

Yes, I don't begrudge TK trying to get the most he can get. He will become a free agent and he deserves to have the chance to get the most money he can. All I am saying is if I am the Flyers, I don't go above 7 years and $8M AAV. As much as I love TK and want him to stay on this team, the Flyers are in no position to pay any winger a contract like this. To me you save the big contracts for a top center or a top pairing defenseman.

The Flyers needed a goal against Washington and Frost sat on the bench the entire third period. It should be clear to everyone by now that when Torts talked about balls to play in the type of games late in the season, he was talking about Frost and Farabee. I think Briere likes Frost and I wonder if this is going to blow up between Briere and Torts in the off-season. Clearly if it were up to Torts Farabee and Frost would be traded.

Okay, I'm gonna go out now and watch the grass grow which will be more exciting than having a conversation with you. You really need to get a new act cause with you it's just the SOS day after day. You are so wacked out about Torts it's not even funny. It's painfully obvious that he lives in your head rent free, and yes, your comments intertwined Frosty with Hughes and Nico which was one of your dumbest comments ever and that's saying something.

Post #1 of the day of you replying directly to me. When are you going to admit that you were full of crap when you posted that you don't read most of my posts?

You're a neanderthal with zero intelligence. Opportunity needs to be given consistently. Especially with a rebuilding team. Guys like you talk about how important the experience of big games is for young players and then accept when a young player is arbitrarily benched behind some outdated mantra such as ice time needs to be earned.
