This is an oversimplification. They can't score, because they can't play playoff style hockey.
Can you agree now that *maybe* they might need to change the (frank)ing core?? - fifty__missions
I've been lamenting the Core 4 for quite some time and how the team is horribly unbalanced as a result.
If this team fails to get past Boston they need to pursue trading Marner. |

Yup, the backend of this D has a few question marks around it still. Truly curious to see how Keefe responds.
Sorry for the late reply, got fed my lunch in the hospital…. Stuff that’s a whole lot of meh lol - Dozzer
Ah ok hope you are ok in the Hospital?
Gio should be in the lineup vs Boston need that toughness. Hopefully Reaves Domi and Bertuzzi step up to another level like they were a few weeks back. Need it. Maybe go with Woll for the next start or give Sammy the confidence to start again? |

16 played less 5 on 5 than Kampf / Domi / Bert and others at just 10+ minutes …
Leafs aren’t winning with that kind of usage-
He needs to go back with 34 - their chemistry is proven and potent - |

I remember pretty clearly you and I posting this exact thing at the beginning of the season.
I remember you calling it out ALL season....I just can't find the energy to keep trying to tell people the same thing over and over so mad respect homie.
There is TALENT on this team. This TEAM is not talented.
But ya, personal stats and regular season standings....woooofukinghoooooo! |

Only in Toronto, where a Leaf player cannot fart in the dark corner of their own bedroom without the press getting wind of it, can a player who just signed an $11.5M deal disappear without any justification?!?!!
WTF is this Nylander poop all about? How can he just not show up playoffs??? |

Yeah as expected… I’m epileptic and they had to install 17 electrodes through my skull and into my brain to figure out where the seizures still occur… already had a lobectomy in 2021 but I still seize and last year’s regular EEG came up as unknown so I got the SEEG this year.
Missing having a j and a beer for the game but at least I can still stream them via my phone lol
As for the goalie tough call… people love female doging about Sammy but the D is what sucked and he got screened like crazy… we shall see what Keefe thinks |

Putting Nylander into a game might help… but I agree and I’m curious to see if Keefe mixes up the lines… keep line one as is and make line 2 Marner Nylander and JT… line one would have it easier because the bruins wouldn’t be able to focus on them defensively.
Also if their D keeps letting whoever is in net get screened wtf do they expect when it comes to goals against? (frank)ing Brodeur in his prime would have lost last night. |

He did get screened, but I also noticed he sat there behind the screen and didn't seem to do anything to try to pick up the puck.
... and on at least one of the goals the person doing the screening was untouched.
The Leafs are the easiest team to play against, every year. |

He also made a lot of nice saves as well… nobody seems to mention that.
Last night it was a weak offence and an unpositioned D for the most part. But there’s those nut bags out there who think Woll, who played like absolute poop post injury, is the solution. I guess they’re just looking for a second goalie to hate as well lol |

Dude, the Leafs have lost 8 straight games to the Bruins - the Leafs cannot seem to figure out this team.
But yes, FLA and TBL definitely match up better against Boston. - mjones242

My add on for yours:
If Keefe can’t get these guys playing proper playoff hockey yes, it’s time for him to go |

The Woll at the beginning of the year would be better, but yeah he has been bad since the injury.
No goalie or defensemen seems to thrive in their "system".
I gotta go back to coaching. |

What was obvious to me lastnight was that Marner didn’t have anyone on his line who knew where to be.
Mitch had the puck lots, but Knies and Tavares were never in position to receive a pass.
Mitch and Auston know where each other are. They would’ve got better looks if they were playing together. I think Bert or Knies slides in there, although Tavares is an option as well..
Bertuzzi Matthews Marner
Knies Tavares Nylander
Domi Holmberg McMann
Jarnkrok Kampf Reaves
Don’t over think things. Go with what’s proven. I think everyone got a little carried away with Domi and Matthews playing together. They’ve been alright, but there’s lots of times Domi doesn’t find Matthews. Swap him and Bertuzzi if you must. |

I didn't see Domi do anything that players on EVERY other team do without consequence, every single game in the playoffs.

Hence my concern… the leafs D was playing far too unreliable… pinching in for instance letting that first goal occur due to it being a 2 on 1. I’m hoping they can solve this and the leafs win tomorrow and make it a five game series. |

Stop loving Marner so much… he’s their worst forward when it comes to giveaways and he has absolutely zero physical ability. He’s also not all that quick. The current GM chose Nylander. Don’t be shocked if Marner is sent packing.
Your memory also sucks ass… that top line of yours is how they started the season and they blew chunks… unless Marner learns how to play tough he’s nothing special, the end.
Also keep Jarnkrok on the third line, drop Knies back down to the fourth and put McMann back up on the second. McMann JT Nylander looked solid as hell. Put Marner on the third line and let him play setup with a couple shooters down there. He’s a weak assed wimp and I truly hope the leafs move on from him. I’m a Londoner too… remember him with the knights… was kind of surprised he got drafted as high as he did tbh. The league has figured out his style and his point production is dropping, it’s not going to stop either.

The BS fees are as ridiculous as Leafs playoff hockey
I had to stop using the app in good conscience. It was a joke to pay $40 for something you could get for $18 if I got in the car. Not really exaggerating either. Pizza/subs/burritos doesn't matter, pay at least as much in delivery and fees as the food itself.
I hate being blantantly ripped off. - underhill14
I ain't picking up poop downtown. I'll pay the 6 dollars extra. |
