Benoit had 8 hits
McCabe 6 hits, 6 blocks
That’s your second pairing
Lack of top partner for 44 is still an issue

If Willy comes back in maybe you can get away with that... but under a pretty solid forecheck not having any wheels back there... yikes. Esp with B's having last change.
TJ has been terrible all year - I don't see him all of a sudden being part of the solution esp now.
Who knows though... something needs to change back there.

Brodie led the dmen in +/-
Gio and Brodie won a Norris
TJ is overmatched vs top players, not slow swimmers 🏊♀️

Nope, truly curious about that one. They won’t openly say why which is a smart move in case he’s still a bit sore when returning but can play at least. Don’t give Boston a specific target on his body. - Dozzer
Hope he returns for next game if he's out long term that's big trouble. Was Geo not playing last night? Scratched?

Hitting wasn't an issue. Scoring was an issue, lack of traffic in front of Swayman was an issue. If the Leafs are going to take twice as many penalties as the dirty Bruins (which is almost a certainty), at least make them count. No more (frank)ing tap on the pants or gloves penalties. Fall on Swayman accidently on purpose 3 or 4 times in the game as Maroon did without a call. Samsonov was lousy. Besides the 3 or 4 posts, he let the first shot of the game in. He also let the first shot of the second period in. Two of the goals were smelly.

1. Domi needs to get his head straight
2. Samsonov needs to be better
3. Lack of foot speed from D makes puck retrieval and getting exits started difficult
4. Too many dumb plays - Reaves stepping in on Edmunston hit leads to 2-on-1
5. Third line was getting caved. Missing Willie and McMann hurt
6. Other poop - Canada Cup
Samsonov was sh1t.
At least Domi pushes back and he was one of the few working out there.
Not working hard enough, not discplined enough, and they look thoroughly disorganized as they have for years now.

We're now at 8 straight games in the playoffs that the Leafs have failed to score more than 2 goals.

Honestly feel the coaching has to improve. Traffic in front of the net, driving the net instead of avoiding contact by passing it around until it gets picked off is something the coach could change. Leafs outshot the Bruins despite the power play disparity. Swayman got off way too easy. Run him the (frank) over.

That's why I don't want to take a guy like Edmundson out. He usually plays a Beniot/McCabe type game but hasn't settled in yet.
Lily is sloppy and soft.
TJ is just fuked.
Rielly, Edmundson (he's listed as a LD/RD)
Beniot, McCabe
Gio, Lybushkin
This is probably the Leafs best chance for a D set up. Keefe should leave it alone and let them all settle in...like he finally did with the Beniot/McCabe pairing. (should've been done a long time before the playoffs but Keefe will Keefe)

The Core just can't figure out how to put the puck in the back of the net in the post-season. It's a broken record.
