...press box Joel and go with Gio and Lilly as a pair. Gio smart enough to protect Lilly and not put him in bad spots like Joel did -

TJ and Gio would just be way too slow and a turnover waiting to happen... gotta at least have some wheels back there besides Riles.

The main thing is to get Willy Styles back.. You could def see them missing him bad.

- dozerD10

Gio Brodie as 3rd pairing would domi nate

Benoit had 8 hits
McCabe 6 hits, 6 blocks
That’s your second pairing

Lack of top partner for 44 is still an issue

If Willy comes back in maybe you can get away with that... but under a pretty solid forecheck not having any wheels back there... yikes. Esp with B's having last change.

TJ has been terrible all year - I don't see him all of a sudden being part of the solution esp now.

Who knows though... something needs to change back there.

Brodie led the dmen in +/-

Gio and Brodie won a Norris

TJ is overmatched vs top players, not slow swimmers 🏊‍♀️

Bruins are a well-oiled machine with exceptional balance throughout their lineup and a goalie who is dialed in.

Leafs are going to need to play nigh perfect hockey to take this series.

Nope, truly curious about that one. They won’t openly say why which is a smart move in case he’s still a bit sore when returning but can play at least. Don’t give Boston a specific target on his body.
- Dozzer

Hope he returns for next game if he's out long term that's big trouble. Was Geo not playing last night? Scratched?

well, that was a dominated game by the Bruins over the Leafs last night.

Leafs will need to be way better the next few games.

Hitting wasn't an issue. Scoring was an issue, lack of traffic in front of Swayman was an issue. If the Leafs are going to take twice as many penalties as the dirty Bruins (which is almost a certainty), at least make them count. No more (frank)ing tap on the pants or gloves penalties. Fall on Swayman accidently on purpose 3 or 4 times in the game as Maroon did without a call. Samsonov was lousy. Besides the 3 or 4 posts, he let the first shot of the game in. He also let the first shot of the second period in. Two of the goals were smelly.

I think Brodie comes in for Edmunston but I’d be surprised if we see Gio at this point.

1. Domi needs to get his head straight
2. Samsonov needs to be better
3. Lack of foot speed from D makes puck retrieval and getting exits started difficult
4. Too many dumb plays - Reaves stepping in on Edmunston hit leads to 2-on-1
5. Third line was getting caved. Missing Willie and McMann hurt
6. Other poop

- Canada Cup

Samsonov was sh1t.
At least Domi pushes back and he was one of the few working out there.

Not working hard enough, not discplined enough, and they look thoroughly disorganized as they have for years now.

We're now at 8 straight games in the playoffs that the Leafs have failed to score more than 2 goals.

I dunno Jones, it is easy to look great against a team as frightened as the Leafs with a goalie out to lunch most of the time.

I feel like Tampa or Florida could beat this Boston team.

No excuse for that except for lack of effort from 4 guys taking up half your cap.

Nothing changes. They are pissing away the best years of the best talent this team has ever had.

Samsonov is 5-11 in playoffs with only ONE playoff run being over a .900 SV%. Was not last year.

He had a .890 SV% this season.

He is the 3rd best goalie on this team and Jones could compete with him for 3rd best.

I understand some of the reasoning they gave him the start but now that he failed he does not deserve another chance.

He is not a good goalie and the stats prove it.

The bright side is Woll feels little less pressure going after Sammy...which I think was the plan all along. Was easy to predict he was going to fail.

Honestly feel the coaching has to improve. Traffic in front of the net, driving the net instead of avoiding contact by passing it around until it gets picked off is something the coach could change. Leafs outshot the Bruins despite the power play disparity. Swayman got off way too easy. Run him the (frank) over.

That's why I don't want to take a guy like Edmundson out. He usually plays a Beniot/McCabe type game but hasn't settled in yet.

Lily is sloppy and soft.
TJ is just fuked.

Rielly, Edmundson (he's listed as a LD/RD)
Beniot, McCabe
Gio, Lybushkin

This is probably the Leafs best chance for a D set up. Keefe should leave it alone and let them all settle in...like he finally did with the Beniot/McCabe pairing. (should've been done a long time before the playoffs but Keefe will Keefe)

Put Woll in net.
Pull Willy out of rehab.

Bert, Matthews, Domi
Nylander, JT, Marner
Robertson, Holmberg, Jarnkrok
Knies, Kampf, Reaves

And get the fuk to work.

Dude, the Leafs have lost 8 straight games to the Bruins - the Leafs cannot seem to figure out this team.

But yes, FLA and TBL definitely match up better against Boston.

The Core just can't figure out how to put the puck in the back of the net in the post-season. It's a broken record.

Yup, the backend of this D has a few question marks around it still. Truly curious to see how Keefe responds.

Sorry for the late reply, got fed my lunch in the hospital…. Stuff that’s a whole lot of meh lol

Agreed. Boston is not among the few higher end teams. Leafs looked like a bunch of overstimulated puppies last night.

They can't score, because they can't play playoff style hockey.

Can you agree now that *maybe* they might need to change the (frank)ing core??
