No doubt, they'd be able to get Willy back to game form.

Weak goaltending affects the offense too. Winnipeg isn't anywhere near as dynamic if they don't trust Hellebuyck.

2 years in a row he goes out at the same time and miraculously heals for game 1. What are the chances. |

Yes, that point has been made - but has Hellebuyck given them every reason to trust him over this Vezina winning season? Do you think one rough game has them retreating back to their blueline and creating a shell around him - or do they trust him? Do you think the Leafs trust Samsonov, based on how he has played on average, over this season? I know the answer I'm thinking of. We've all played in front of good and bad goalies and we know how we react as a team around them. Professionals are way better, but they react in a similar way.

2022 he came back before the end of the regular season (i.e., he had to fit under the salary cap).
The other two times?

Are you saying you saw the Leafs do this in game 1?
I didn't at all, if anything their defensive coverage was way too loose and sloppy as a whole.
If your trying to say the Leafs don't trust Samsonov I'm not sure I agree, you say "on average" but aside from the last few starts Sammy was really really good since coming back and I think the Leafs had more trust in him than Woll in the last 2.5 months or so of the season.
End of the day I'll keep saying that none of that matters if the Leafs can't score more than 1 goal on Boston goalies per game....BUT Air Corji has given me faith!

Vegas, Tampa.. any market Buttman wants to see growth will always get the breaks... Vegas is a paper champion..... Buttman could careless about Canadian teams or teams with deep fan base already established... Buttman is a joke and team ownership groups allow his nonsense..... |

Maybe if Nylander doesn't play and the Leafs are out in 4 games people will start believing me when I say he's their most clutch scorer in the playoffs?

Either they are champions made of paper or they're champions on paper.
Either way, they won the cup last year so I doubt they care.

Some of us already believe / agree with you.
The hope is that that narrative can change to “so far” and someone like the man with the greatest porn ‘stache in NHL history goes wild in the playoffs and becomes the biggest playoff performer in Leaf history!!!
