Was just coming to say.. Leafs jettisoned him because he didn't fit Dubas's under 6 foot rule...Big guy in the bottom 6 that steps up in the playoffs.. Who would need that.

I don’t understand the Leafs core. Kane is a smallish player who elevates his game when the game gets tougher in the playoffs.
Reilly was good last playoffs but your number one d should be good, it shouldn’t be a pleasant surprise.
So far in their careers our top players have been ok at best. - shack67
Kane and toews were mentally tough and understood how to pave themselves during the regular season. I dont see that in the leaf star players. |

Ummm so the Canucks pre game intro thingy (I do love U2 as walk out music though but the Habs did it first - a long time ago) but the kid in Canucks jersey skates to centre ice with a stick and a white towel on the stick and raises it.
The universal sign of surrender.
What marketing genius thought that one up?

As for U2, the Canucks used it for many years as an intro song. Here is the suspected reason they may have used it last night.

I never pursued my law career. Was even dumb enough to forgo potential opportunity with a big agency. I had another job offer I liked and NHL was going on strike. - jribout
Meh, it's nothing special and there are waaaaaay too many lawyers in this province now. Without being too pushy I steer my kids away. |

1. Like I said the Habs used that U2 song way before the Canucks even thought of it.
2. I know the Roger Nelson story (it was towards the refs because he didn’t like the calls) - that still doesn’t not make it stupid for an intro before a playoff series. Funny since everyone says Leaf fans whine about the officiating the most but here is Vancouver using just that before the puck drops on a series. |

From the athletic
Nylander looked to be laboring, especially early in the session, and misfired entirely on a couple of shot attempts while the ice sheet was still freshly resurfaced. He wasn’t moving with his normal fluidity and frequently hunched over while regrouping along the boards between drills. He had Giordano feed him passes to practice one-timers and went through a series of puck-touch drills under the supervision of assistant coaches Manny Malhotra and Dean Chynoweth.
Kidney stones is my dumb as (frank) guess - jribout
poopty ...sounds like he tweaked a muscle in his back. Limits movement and strength. It's going to be a narrative if he misses more games - should we have been doing some game management that last week. I assumed JT would get rested for sure.
Lightning played 11 Fwd the last game ....Leafs had options.
Game day ....lets (frank)ing go! |

Its simple.
Win and you're back in the series.
Lose.
And its most likely done.
Leafs win 4-2.

Is it just me or is years playoffs the most under hyped ever?
It’s probably just me, but my expectations are zero, and my excitement level is maybe a 2. |

Great players laughing at other great players for not winning a cup is always funny.
Clearly unfair to the player on the receiving end, but funny.

How will the 41M club respond tonight? Matthews, Marner, Tavares and Reilly...it's on them to show why they earn the big $$$ |

It’s early let everyone get some more coffee before the overreactions and proclamations of the Leafs being the worst team ever reach a boil.

lol okay okay I will…
Think it’s fair of me to start telling people that at least they’re not living off of hospital food and not being able to have even one damn beer while watching a game right now? Could that even make a leafs fan feel bad? lol I’m doubting it.
To be clear I’m not after attention, it would be me just trying to help people let their over stimulated emotions go lol |
