I disagree. Not when the agent is refusing to speak with the team. That is unprofessional and the Flyers had every right to try and talk to the player, who they owned exclusive negotiation rights to. It was Briere and Jones that went to Sweden to try and talk to Gauthier.

The first time I managed people, I saw everyone as an ally or enemy. Over time that was not working. Later I got to a place where I evaluated motives. If someone was ambitious or greedy or whatever then use that so that it aligns with your agenda.

The fact that they were caught flat footed when hw wouldn’t sign, seems to say they said no and then went to sleep.
