How's the sewer smell at work? Still smell like someone took a big dump on your desk?

Patrik Bexell @Zeb_Habs

According to @sportbladet Timrå, and Kimmo Kapanen (Olivers dad), has signed Oliver Kapanen to a contract. The Montreal Canadiens WILL sign Kapanen after the season, and then Timrå hopes to get a loan deal done with the #Habs to have Kapanen in SHL rather than the AHL #GoHabsGo

At least Kapanen would play in the SHL and not the Liiga next season.

There was a time when we would have been hoping for the best out of a guy like this, as one of our top 5 prospects.

Oh how times have changed.

A Nice to have, if it works out, otherwise, we have others.

I mean, there's always a chance he shows more when coming to NA but there's nothing from all reports that show him having enough upside to become a top 6 forward at the NHL level and he doesn't really have that "grinder" side in his game that would make him an ideal bottom 6 player either.

But he's still young and Timmins used a 2nd to draft him so... might as well see!

just the idea of having a healthy Dach back in the lineup changes everything.

no, but he could be a good 3rd line player...

I wouldn't mind seeing him play a year in the SHL to be honest.

This is why I'm on the fence with going for best player available with their 1st round pick

If you bring another defenseman to the fold, you won't have room to develop them all. I know you can always make trades but you have to find the perfect trade partner...I think you have less chances to get the guy you really want this way.

It honestly feels like a fog has been lifted.

After 25+ years of wishing and hoping poopty draft picks, bad UFA signings and terrible trades actually find some way to work out.

Just seems so distant now.

Whether they win a cup or not, the fact they are building the foundation for a fun and talented team that (hopefully) continues to grow and win is just exciting in itself.

... and imagine if/when they start winning.
