I’m sure the family of Kyle Marisa Roth isn’t joking about the Cabal lately

But Girgenson is a FA, so does that really count as on the roster?

Points aren't everything, but, to me, scoring 30g is a good sign you're at minimum, a top6 forward and more likely you're a 1st liner. There were 46 guys who accomplished this in 2023-24, so that bar seems fair. There are playmakers who will be the assist guys who should account for the other 45 or so. Are there non 1st line players who score 30? Absolutely. But, IMO, most of those guys are tweeners and almost all are top6 forwards. It's difficult to luck into that kind of production, that's all I mean.

If you can get 90g out of your top line, that's a decent line that can get the job done. The Bruins just did it with 85g from their top line, as an example. We know Tuch, Peterka and Tuch all have this ability, so I don't see it as some big reach to say we can ice a competitive top line.

Points are deceptive, for sure. Opportunity plays a huge role. We'll see a number of better 2nd lines in the playoffs than the Sabres top line.

Tuch looks a lot more like a middle 6 (and everything clicked for a career year) than an above average 1st liner. At 28, not sure we should expect more. If he rounds out your top line, it can work, but the other 2 need to be difference makers. If Tage is just average, it all falls apart.

The Sabres had a top line, it just took the Meatstick 70 games to put it together

Some truth to this, Skinner was dragging them down for three quarters of the year. Too many giveaways in the o-zone.

That's another reason, in the lengthy list of them, why I think Meatball cost us a playoff birth this year.

I get where you're coming from with Tuch's age, he will start regressing eventually, but not yet. The last 20 or so games of the year showed me he still has "it". But have to say, I think Tage will reemerge as one of the premier snipers in the league next year. Playing through a broken hand or wrist, for a shooter, is normally a death sentence for the year and he still potted 29gs.

JJ, Tage, Tuch 44% xGF 39% HDCF
JJ, Cozens, Benson 50% xGF 49% HDCF
JJ, Cozens, Quinn 62% xGF 62% HDCF

They may have found it a year ago. Quinn's impact at both ends is huge.

Anyone see that report that Terry has sold all his sports franchises, except the Bills?

I'm sure it's bullcr@p, but has anyone with any REAL sources quashed this?

The PP alone costed them a spot.

Let's see how a new coach handles it. With Donnie, I always expected bad lineup decisions. Looking forward to some change, and not the move Okposo/Girgs up in the lineup type change.

What can Sabres players do next season to hold themselves accountable?

Mattias Samuelsson: “I think we could definitely practice way harder and that will start at training camp next year. … More mentally engaged and maybe with a little bit more purpose or objective.”

RIP Richardey Betts

Got to meet him briefly in the 90s and was impressed with how he could play so well while obviously stoned out of his mind...and by how short he was.

Used to see the Brothers every year in the 90's/2000's, both with and without him. It was time for him to go when he did. Thought he was bringing them down at the end of his tenure, or at least holding them back. Anyway, RIP Richardey. Was a great run.

It was multifactorial, but probably. What do you think is a bigger thing, that or the coaching?

It's a guy with less Twitter followers than I have on my Pandamonium account, which is comprised mostly of sports cards and bad Sabres takes...
