I never once said "live well", yet people are plowing ahead as if I did. Because it means different things to different people. To some it may mean owning a 3000 square foot house, having 3 new cars for 2 people, going on a $5000 vacation once a year to Europe. What "live well" to me means is no debt, having a car(not a car payment), and a stable residence not having to move every 18 months, and a little spending money to go out to eat once or twice a month.

My neighbor across the street sold his home last summer well above what he asked for and over twice what he paid for it 7-8 years ago. The property taxes have still been assessing at pre-Covid levels. To think municipalities weren't going to react to that is just naive. The demand still well outweighs the supply. Yeah they dropped interest rates to zero and printed trillions of dollars.

They then told you inflation was transitory, meanwhile someone forgot to tell commodities that.

They have interest rates to ~ 5% which has hurt the consumer but has had next to no tangible effect on inflation.

They tried to tamper the balance sheet then regional banks started to fail so that put it an end to that.

The FED, apparently not knowing the effects of this, are either all idiots are all negligent.

The party goes on in the stock market because there is still an influx of liquidity swishing around the system. The AI bubble is reminiscent of the Dot Com bubble of the late 90’s.

I don’t think the party is over yet because of this, but when they do try to put the inflation genie back in the bottle.
