Really is. Overcoming every obstacle to over perform. Effort over talent. Now it’s the season where their best prospect rejected the team, their goalie was lost because of a rape charge, and the coach ostracized the team captain.

On the bright side we won’t get to watch the flyers get smashed in the playoffs.
I can’t see JT getting fired. Despite his poor handling of the roster. This epic collapse at the end of the season and the biggest reason is not fixing the power play.
If I was DB I would send Torts to evaluate their ECHL affiliate next season so when he quits you don’t have to pay him.

I think he'd actually participate in a rebuild and play younger guys to evaluate what they are.
In no world should Staal and Johnson be playing right now. They've shown that they can't keep up.

Here is the reality. This team has not quit, although they look like they have. They are spent emotionally and physically. The tank is empty. That leads to bad decisions and bad play. All over the ice. The Flyers calling card on the season, their defensive structure is completely absent. Everyone is struggling. Which leads to the break down of the team structure and players out of position. Mistake after mistake. Turnovers and bad coverages. Look at the Dvorak goal. The passer is covered but 3 Flyers go to him and form the picket fence and nobody covers Dvorak. On the hat trick goal, Johnson gets knocked off his feet and doesn't get back. On the 2nd Slafkovsky goal, there is no structure. Two guys go to the passer and Drysdale goes for a skate. How can anyone expect a young goaltender like Ersson to play with any confidence in this situation?
Tortorella's brand of hockey has run it's curse just as expected.

Don't scapegoat the players you don't like and stick up for the ones that you do. The entire team is terrible now. It is not an individual situation.
