ugh...come on, man

Absurdly superstitious, yes....comically positive, I dont think so hahah but hey if I'm making people laugh, thats great news. Truly.

I said "almost comically positive" ... you're definitely more positive than most people on here (perhaps all of them). Not a bad thing, just stood out that you predicted them to lose. It'd be like if Grinder predicted DOC was going to have a big game tonight.

Idk wtf is going to happen tonight. We need to get at least 2 points total from these 2 games vs TOR and BOS.

I think there's a very good chance they lose vs both Leafs and Bruins...

Not disagreeing with anything said here, but which available coach would you have chosen in place of Sullivan? Most, if not all, NHL coaches will lean on veterans over young players way more often than not.

I know he gets a lot of flack, and a lot of it is deserved. But the grass isn't always greener.

Not sure to be honest, but I think a lot of coaches would have benched Graves this season at points.

Don't believe the narratives, Mick....I definitely used to be more optimistic for them years ago when they were front runners to win division year. However, since you've become a regular around here there's no way you could think that from what you've read from my posts. Now, in saying all of that I wasn't nearly as hard on them this season as a lot of others. I could see upsides some couldn't. I said they weren't as bad as a lot of people would say they were after a lot of games this season....and it looks like I may have been right....maybe, we'll see.....

The Laugh and the Ruins? Not a chance. I could see a W and maybe an Overtime lost.

Not sure how you can all be so confident. Did you not watch all the other games this season? They looked like world beaters for 4 or 5 game stints a few times already this season....

He’s also absurdly superstitious and thinks he’s reverse jinxing us. So it’s my duty to say:

We’re spanking the Leafs tonight

I'll be honest... I explicitly told my wife after the game on Saturday that she was not allowed under any circumstances to wash my shorts and cutoff that I've worn for the last three games.

During '16 and '17 cup runs I would get home from work and shoot a couple of baskets on my kids toddler basketball net. If i missed and couldn't get the rebound in we were losing. It was crazy accurate in predicting the outcomes of playoff games lmao.

Fixed that for you hahaha

I dont really drink all that much anymore...though I do love my cannabis...it doesn't fvck with all the hockey I play and running I do at my age, in fact it helps in a few ways.

I'm expecting to see Jarry in net tonight. Ned's played so many games in a row, and tonight isn't the must win that the DET game is, so I'm guessing they'll sneak in Jarry tonight.

I'd say we're 40% chance to win, 50% to get at least a point. Getting at least a point would be huge in this game.

Man, I agree and I thought he started looking a bit tired vs the Bolts. Thought to myself they should start Jarry tonight. However, Ned has been announced as starter for tonight...

09 I was working at a pizza place and every pens game I’d sit at the bar and eat a pizza. Once the coaching change happened and they took off that became my lucky things. Ate one pizza every game, sometimes two in the playoffs. I didn’t gain weight but I was probably dying inside.

It honestly feels like they were packing it in hoping Sully would get fired and when it became clear that wasnt going to happen they said (frank) it, lets just get in the playoffs.

Im happy for Bunting, hell of a lot of pressure on him being a key piece in the Jake trade. So far a win-win for both teams, even if I thought they should have received more, I'd definitely still do that deal again with how Bunting has rejuvenated Malkin.

Would be great to see them sneak in.

Kind of seems like the team came together. Like they're giving Dubas an FU after the Guentz trade. I haven't seen Sid, Geno, Letang and EK look this determined all season.

If they could get that bum Carter off the bottom line, they'd look a lot better too.

How many games did we have this season where one of Guentzel or Rust were missing? I feel like it was at least 20 and that’s a storyline that hasn’t been talked about a whole lot as to why this team discombobulated to the extent that they did.

A lot of things happened at once around the Guentzel trade. 1) we got a healthy player back in the trade that ended up fitting the top 6 really well. Guentzel was still out at the time so from an on ice perspective that was a pretty major net gain. 2) The D kind of rounded into form when Graves was removed from the equation. 3) Sullivan bumped Smith out of the top 6 who instantly formed chemistry with Eller to makeup a solid 3rd line while DOC has been able to be a serviceable third wheel for Sid and Rust who are both on a tear.

I think it was Tojo who said imagine a world where we signed Bunting instead of trading for Smith. That’s a real tragedy of this offseason. Having Bunting from the jump without having to give up Guentzel and were probably in an untouchable playoff spot as 3rd in the Metro.

I was mentioning this a lot but it didnt seem like many around here wanted to to agree that it was a major issue.

The thing about not signing Bunting in offseason is I think Dubas may have valued Graves more than Bunting. Graves took that cap space, to lesser extent Nieto and Atchy too. You could never convince me that Dubas didnt at least kick the tires on Bunting in free agency, though. Thats his boy. Perhaps Bunting turned down an offer.
