Arguably the gutsiest game of the year
- keaner17

Thatโ€™s a humongous win. Varlamov should be all 3 stars. They tightened everything up tonight. Team effort.

Varly is locked in. Heโ€™s playing moving forward.

He was solid, but over the last four games, the Isles have been massively better at protecting the crease and recovering rebounds. I was skeptical because they were doing it against subpar competition, but tonight was reason for hope.

Royโ€™s system of playing D first is coming together. Itโ€™s at the right time too.

Huge win and should be a big confidence builder.

This is the six win in a row team. Hopefully the six loss in a row team doesn't show up.

Still waaaay too many give aways. And some especially egregious ones tonight.

They were lucky to get out of the second without giving up a goal. Varly had himself a great game and the team played great in the 1st and 3rd. Really hope when the music stops we are playing the Rangers and not the Canes.

Rangers are killing it this year and Iโ€™m probably wrong about this but I think they will be an easier out then the Canes. We just need Panarin to completely vanish again and Shesty to be pedestrian like he was last playoffs. Rather play them then anyone else. No matter who we line up against we will be underdogs. Maybe these guys can continue playing like this into the playoffs rather then going on another six game losing streak. ๐Ÿ˜†

If they can somehow beat the Rangers in the first round then we can put the rubber stamp of approval on the season. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Yeah, I was half-joking. The Canes have mostly had the Isles' number for many years now. Not a good match-up for whatever reason.

But that's all I want to say on the subject until the Isles have clinched a playoff spot. I don't want to jinx them.

I do not think I can take another series loss to the Canes.

Not even entertaining the idea of the playoffs until there is an X next to our name. This team sweeps the rug from under our feet often.

Caps lost to Sens in OT so thatโ€™s a plus.
