Last year, when the cult members were in full-throated hysterics about the sudden locker room cancers of Kevin Hayes and Angelo, I posited the question: Which players will be next? Because with Tortorella, it will never end. He is only comfortable when he is in conflict.

It seems Farabee and Frost are next on the chopping block, especially if this team flames out of the playoffs. How soon before the rumors start popping up that Farabee and Frost are locker room poison? How soon before the cult members eat it up and spew it as fact across other platforms?

When is Bundy going to link Farabee and Frost to Cutter Gauthier or Kevin Hayes to discredit them?

At least co-GM Danny Briere is given direction. He doesn't have to guess who to trade, nor does he have to put on his big boy pants and put his mark on this team.

While I don't think Farabee is dog meat, 2 months and not producing is a long time in the NHL....

I think he is a nice 3rd liner who can jump up onto the second line in a pinch. I thought he was badly overpaid when he signed his extension. I don't see him playing on NYR/ Carolina/ Colorado/ Dallas/ Edmonton or Vancouver's top 6. Doubt he would fit in Toronto/ Florida or tampa on their top 6 either.

Sorry MJL, I usually agree with your point for the most part, but I don't see Farabee as a top 6 forward on most contenders.

Farabee has 42 ESP this season

Only three forwards on the Rags have more

Only one forward in Carolina has more

Only two forwards in Colorado have more

Only three forwards in Edmonton have more

Only three forwards in Vancouver have more

Only four forwards in Florida have more

Only three forwards in Tampa have more

Only three forwards in Toronto have more

Don’t have a heart attack bud. Those two guys you mentioned were clearly issues. ESpecially Hayes. Provy needed to go to, his time was up here.

Farabee is a possibility - Frost is a goner

I would say the opposite. I think Farabee is a goner and Frost is a possibility.

Farabee has been pretty awful for quite sometime now and I really don't care what the numbers say. The eye test has not been pretty.

Points aren't everything...he seems to get the odd chance on a 2-1 or short breakaway, but he goes missing for huge portions of games. I forget he is on the team until I hear his name called.

As a top 6 forward, wouldn't it almost be assumed that part of that role is the PP? Having 42 ESP out of 49 total points makes me question a lot. Sure the fact he is getting points at even strength is great, but only 7 points n the PP and SH? He is being relied upon for more than that as a top 6 guy. he doesn't drive plays, set the pace, just kinda seems along for the ride.

He is not what I think of when I think of a proto typical top 6 forward. His game seems incomplete, and disappearing for 1/3 of the season is not what is expected of a player with 300 NHL games under his belt.
Disappointed in him to say the least.

The numbers agree with the eye test. I still think he should be played higher up the lineup due to the other players we have. I’d put Farabee with Laughton and brink, Foerester with Poehling and Hathaway

Farabee’s contract will be hard to move and get good value.

I don’t think Zamula will ever be a quality NHL defenseman. Hopefully the Flyers did enough to pump his value to move him in the offseason.
- psuhockey

if there is a good deal, I would move him, but he still has potential, he needs weight and strength, that should add some to his skating and he could be a very good 3rd pair guy. That said, they have other guys coming, move him for a good deal or part of a good deal.

The upside of his tools is way better than his trade value, would be dumb to trade him.

What happens to Farabee's numbers if he is playing on Colorado on a line with MacKinnon? On the PP there with MacKinnon and Makar? In TB, playing on a line with Kucherov or Point? On their PP? How about on any team that has elite offensive players on it. How are Farabee's point totals inflated.
The slump is a legit criticism and he needs to fix that. However any way you want to look at it. The numbers don't lie.
As far as the Flyers PP is concerned. There isn't a single player on the team who has good PP point production. Including Konecny.

Farabee's contract won't in anyway be detrimental to moving him. If he is put on the market. There will be a ton of interest.

I am predicting Farabee gets traded and TK gets resigned. I am willing to gamble up to $10 on this prediction.

TK for sure. Farabee I doubt.

Does anyone see Konecny being moved at the draft? Just thinking but we really didn't see the Schenn deal happening back at that draft. They have to be asking themselves if Konecny at over 8mil at 8 years is really worth it in the grand scheme of things?

The more and more I look at it I just don't see any logic to resigning him. His value will never be higher and what you could probably get in a package is a lot more helpful in your rebuild moving forward.

That’s a fair point. But what happens to your arguement if he DOESNT play with those players? So he does to a team (with players) you like to mention and he simply doesn’t gel with them for whatever reason? Isn’t it safe to assume his numbers dip drastically or at least well below the numbers he put up in Philly you like to cite for gm him being top line winger or top 6 winger?

Well his value was higher last year…. When he had TWO. Years left on current deal at great price. Now only 1 left. I’d say his value is probably a little lower now. Not much tho

Farabee has as many points as Tippett (49)

Weird to play him behind Lycksell (3), Poehling (25) and Hathaway (15)

- Feanor

You’re using the wrong metrics here. You should be looking at them in terms of balls size.

No, I doubt it. When you look at all the teams, he is talented enough and skilled enough that he is going to see plenty of time on scoring lines with top players and on the PP. If he's healthy, I only see his numbers getting better.

Big body, can’t teach that. He’s very patient and poised with the puck which you also can’t teach but has also hurt him at times. He’s a good skater. What exactly do you think he’s worth on the trade market? Asking what he excels at isn’t giving any substance to your view. Hanging on to him and playing it out is a much better option than his trade value. Especially because he won’t be commanding any type of high contract value.

Yes Farabee needs to fix it, but unfortunately the Flyers are on the cusp of making the playoffs. They do not have time to wait for him to fix it. If being demoted to the fourth line doesn't light a fire under his ass to do something then he can stay there.

And with him on the fourth line and with Coots hurt, it gives Brink a chance to play with better talent.

It would be the smart move but I've mentality prepared myself for the inevitable extension.
