Farabee hasn't done anything to earn a 2nd line spot. He's a 3rd liner on most playoff teams.

Most of these guys haven't earned anything yet. Especially the right to feel comfortable in the line up.

- Richard_wilderness

Farabee has as many points as Tippett (49)

Weird to play him behind Lycksell (3), Poehling (25) and Hathaway (15)

That's false. Despite the pretty bad two months he had had. Farabee is still in the top 30 in the NHL in points among all NHL teams and top 15 in EV points among all NHL LW's. He is a bona-fide top 6 winger in this league. He is a top 6 winger on the majority of playoff teams.

When was the last time he has showed it?

Since Feb 6 (26 games), he has 4 goals and 5 assists. For a top winger that is piss poor.

Last 10 games, 2 goals
last 15 games, 4 goals

its not an clichés, it is a show me league like all the other leagues. You want to start, you want starter minutes then show me.

Its why Brink sits, he shows nothing to say he deserves a spot in the NHL, he dominates the AHL but disappears in the NHL.

It s not hold your hand league and hope you perform.

Yes, that's all it is. BS cliches. The best thing for the Flyers for the stretch and for the playoffs if they make is to get Farabee going again. The best way to do that is to play him on a scoring line with other talented and skilled players. Not playing him in limited minutes on the 4th line. He is still more productive than the players playing ahead of him. You've bought into the bullpoop. Brink should be playing every game also. Instead of being punitive, Tortorella should actually try coaching. Work with the players, give him positive opportunity and an opportunity to get his game back.

Tortorella is still talking about taking it to another level. Of being better and finding a way. Being the best they can be. LOL

Are Staal and Johnson on the same pairing? That does not seem ideal.

We'll see if that is the case. This coach is always going to heavily favor veterans.

The all important playoff drive for the kids to learn....from the press box. Anyone who thinks any of the young guys are getting ice time if the Flyers stumble into the playoffs are dearly mistaken.

Ivan Fedotov is in goal. Looks like Marc Staal is in and Egor Zamula is scratched.

While I don't think Farabee is dog meat, 2 months and not producing is a long time in the NHL....

I think he is a nice 3rd liner who can jump up onto the second line in a pinch. I thought he was badly overpaid when he signed his extension. I don't see him playing on NYR/ Carolina/ Colorado/ Dallas/ Edmonton or Vancouver's top 6. Doubt he would fit in Toronto/ Florida or tampa on their top 6 either.

Sorry MJL, I usually agree with your point for the most part, but I don't see Farabee as a top 6 forward on most contenders.

He will never be the main feature on a first or second line, he can be complimentary piece in a good top 6

I am predicting Farabee gets traded and TK gets resigned. I am willing to gamble up to $10 on this prediction.

All you have to do is look at the scoring production on the top teams. Farabee would be a top 6 forward on all but maybe 4 teams or so.
Even with the 2 month slump, which I agree is a long time. He is still ranked top 30 in the league among LW's. Still top 15 in EV production. The numbers don't lie.

Farabee has 21 G 28 A 49 P

Boston Bruins LW

Marchand 28 37 65
DeBrusk 18 21 39
JVR 11 27 38

Carolina

Teravainen 21 27 48
Bunting 13 23 36
Martinook 13 15 28

Colorado

Drouin 17 34 51
Lehkonen 14 14 28
Wood 9 15 24

Edmonton

Hyman 52 20 72
Kane 21 18 39
Foegele 17 20 37

Florida

'Tkachuk 24 59 83
Lomberg 5 2 7
Gadjovich 2 2 4

Nashville

Forsberg 43 44 87
Sherwood 9 14 24
Smith 9 14 23

Tampa Bay

Hagel 24 46 70
Paul 22 20 42
Jeannot 6 7 13

Toronto

Bertuzzi 19 19 38
Knies 13 20 33
Robertson 12 12 24

Vancouver

Hoglander 23 11 34
Kuzmenko 8 13 21
Di Giuseppe 5 5 10

Vegas

Dorofeyev 12 7 19
Carrier 6 2 8
Morrelli 3 1 4

These are examples. Teams in the NHL don't have the scoring depth that many fans think they have.

do you think the left wing group is that strong? seems kind of weak when you look at the overall scoring. so he is top 30 by default.

The Flyers are a team without top 6 quality centers. Frost is emerging but he is the only one. Add to it a thin defense in regards to puck movers especially once Walker was traded and you can’t really kill any of the wings for sporadic production.

I think Zam is struggling, after a long season, if he can have a great summer, he should take another step. I like Ginning, but prefer Attard for puck moving
- wcorvette

I don’t think Zamula will ever be a quality NHL defenseman. Hopefully the Flyers did enough to pump his value to move him in the offseason.

Last year, when the cult members were in full-throated hysterics about the sudden locker room cancers of Kevin Hayes and Angelo, I posited the question: Which players will be next? Because with Tortorella, it will never end. He is only comfortable when he is in conflict.

It seems Farabee and Frost are next on the chopping block, especially if this team flames out of the playoffs. How soon before the rumors start popping up that Farabee and Frost are locker room poison? How soon before the cult members eat it up and spew it as fact across other platforms?

When is Bundy going to link Farabee and Frost to Cutter Gauthier or Kevin Hayes to discredit them?

At least co-GM Danny Briere is given direction. He doesn't have to guess who to trade, nor does he have to put on his big boy pants and put his mark on this team.

Don’t have a heart attack bud. Those two guys you mentioned were clearly issues. ESpecially Hayes. Provy needed to go to, his time was up here.
