God Bless MLSE, they are selling worn-out boards:

https://auctions.realspor...east/isynmv1/prod/2720099

$500.

If you had unlimited money and were building a mancave, this could be tempting.

Yeah it feels like they think they are dealing with robots and absolutes. Confidence is a huge thing as well. How do you think a young Davis Scheider feels when his manager can't even trust him at all against certain pitches.

He isn't Vogelbach, he is a 25 year old rookie that has a lot of room to grow.

It is frustrating to watch, and I feel as Leaf fans we just went through it with Dubas. This heavy reliance on stats DOES bring some positive outcomes but at the end of the day there are far too many negatives.

Find a balance ffs. The annoying part is they bet on their guys after a failed offseason...but now they won't bet on them? clueless.

I agree, but I find it hard (impossible) to believe that there is a single person out there who would pay $35 for a Marlies vs. Cleveland regular season game puck.
- Atomic Wedgie

Oh hell I wouldn’t. I completely get that. Truth is tho Toronto houses a lot of people making absurd amounts and $35 is nothing more than pocket change to them. I could see some parents also buying it as a gift to a hockey loving child.

I am willing to guess you’re right and there is a few lol eh tunes out there but my bet is they’re primarily sold to people who simply have so much $ in their lives and others who justify the expense due to it being a gift.

I quickly crunched the numbers for the leafs’ practice pucks. Roughly 50 pucks a game at 82 games for $15 each… the owners make $61,500.00. Can’t say I blame the owners lol *shrugs*

Matters not to me.
We'll fine out in a week or two.

- Fakepartofme

Maybe the plan is to fall into the wildcard and stay out of the Atlantic maelstrom. Sure, Rangers and Carolina are good, but look at the rest of that division? The Atlantic is far more competitive and may end up with both wildcard slots.

Boston is the easiest opponent but would hurt the most if they lost.

Rangers probably the hardest but its fresh and fun, its entertainment at the end of the day.

Florida is a good middle ground.

At the end of the day I don't really care. Probably rangers if I had a choice but only because it feels fresh.

- Santo_44

I'd be hoping for Boston if I were you.

There are people paying a little more than $4200 for a ticket to a single game out there… I’m willing to bet there is a market of people who won’t even try to talk them down the asking price for this nonsense.

I think leafs were winning the regular season matchups everytime they lost to Boston. Maybe this is better. What are the chances Boston beats Toronto 8 out of a possible 11 games this year?

I like it...regardless of who you play, you're not headed down an easy path. You're going to need a lot of luck to get out of the first round. Much like the Canucks.

Davis Scheider back in today.

Keep him in for ffs.

I don't get it. I know he struggles against high fastballs and want to keep him away from certain pitchers but he is what? 25?

He is the most improved player in all of baseball over the last year and a bit...can we not let him learn? Figure it out and become an important piece?

But no, the Jays like to use their calculators and take out Berrios in game 2 and never play Babe Schneider.

- Santo_44

Jays for me are so unlikable simply because of Management. They won't make decisions on the fly because when they let the computer do it they have a built in excuse"We are following our process".

They will never win this way..

In fact there is no reason to have a Field Manager at this point.

If we want to use the calculators, neither matchup offers an advantage that is worthwhile compared to the other.

Choice would simply be based off emotional value and entertainment value.

It really does not matter.

Lower seeded opponents and home ice haven't meant anything to the Leafs, and home ice hasn't meant much in the NHL in general in the playoffs in recent years. Ride the blue pony let the spinning wheel ride.

Ya it's wild - funny thing in the summer they have their equipment sale at Real Sports where they set up an area in the concourse where you go into the store and then end up in the concourse.

I snagged a couple goalie cut Camo Practice jerseys (never used, no names and no #'s on them) for either $99 or $149 each and sold one to my kid brother. There were really good deals on alot of the gear then, including buy one stick get one half price and a bunch of the sticks are brand new stock never even been taped. I only glanced at the player sticks but the price for a goalie stick was less than retail for one, then you could get a 2nd for 50% off that price.....I regret not snagging a couple twigs for sure.

It's all timing on this stuff though. My brother and I were at a game last year, in the concourse on the 300 level they had a mini booth with some player worn jerseys (n big names really) etc. and they had some of the jerseys they wore for the outdoor game vs Buffalo that were again team issued but not worn and never had any names or #'s on them. They were selling for like $250 or $300 a pop and again they had a couple goalie jerseys (which are really hard to find in pro stock jerseys for a good price because obviously they make less of them).

Brother and I hadn't had enough beer to justify the cost and passed.

I see those same goalie cut jerseys listed on line and selling for 5 - 600 bucks each.

Missed opportunity to make a few clams.

- Cush29

My helmet is from the Leafs.

$300 helmet with $200 Oakley half-visor. Got it for $100. The reason it was so cheap was because it didn't have any stickers on it - no Leafs, no numbers.

The guy at the sale figured it was probably a rookie camp helmet.

The only matchups where there is a legit advantage will be the 7 and 8 seeds in the east.

The top 6 in the east is a pick em.

Awesome. I want them to try this. Like Pittsburgh when they put Phil The Thrill on the 3rd line.

Oh wait, I forgot, changing lines is BAD! Because you have to use a BLENDER.

Agree, I would prefer the Rangers just because it is not Boston or Florida.. Would like variety.. NHL needs to switch up 1-8,2-7,3-6,4-5... or even 1-16,2-15....

So who y'all got for a first round opponent...doesn't matter? Boston, Florida or NYR.
- Pacificgem

Buffalo - close proximity and relatively cheap tickets for visitors.

A guy can hope, right?

I am going based off the back of my head but I swear Matthews has owned Shesterkin in his career.

I think. I know one of them has owned the other.

I look forward to over-hyping him all summer, and then calling him a complete bust when he doesn't get a hat trick in the first pre-season game.
