I'm not saying he's wrong. But telling Xhekaj to be careful not to take stupid penalties doesn't prevent him from playing physical and/or fighting.

no, but it's still a dumb strategy.
- Pat1993

It's a dumb strategy to let you're best defensemen get injured with a check in the back and not stand up for yourself has a team.

Look at begining of 2023, Xhekaj was a relevation everybody was saying they felt 2 inches bigger. Then he got injured and missed a chunk of the season.

Start of the year he does the same thing, gets sent down to Laval. He comes back up and his hockey has improved and we can all see that but he almost never fights. Now you have guys like Slaf and Guhle being targeted by the other team and Scabeh complaining that nothing was done in retaliation.

nice. alexa says it might rain again today (we finally got a day or 2 without rain) already.

just a few nice, dry 55 degree days would be nice.

You can't tell me that didn't tell Xhekaj put the brakes on his fighting. And yes when you tell a guy like that to put the brakes on, he's not going to be as reactive, it's human nature.

am I disappointed Doucherov didn't get his face caved in? yes.

do I find they look like a bunch of pussies who don't care and don't look out for each other? no. the way they've been playing doesn't really indicate that, they don't just roll over and wait to get killed.

are you guys really saying Wifi should have jumped the best scorer in the league?!? lol

the refs should have called a penalty. that's what should have happened. but of course, they suck.
you'll get over it.

as long as the rain doesn't become ice, then it really sucks.

Gonna side with Pat on this one.

Rolling 4D at the point would be stupid.

But someone like Anderson should have shown up at some point, given he does nothing else.

of course he wouldn't have fought Xhekaj, and if he jumped him then it would look really (frank)ing dumb.

Starting to rain a little, gonna be pretty mushy here today... hopefully it does not get too cold overnight and everything is ice tomorrow.

yup. it shouldn't always be up to the same guy to man up, this would've been a nice opportunity for him to get noticeable at least.

Give me an example?

I mean they still hit and play good hockey recently. There's not many examples of cheap shots recently. The last two games agaisnt Flo and TB have been more physicals and I have to say they have not really responded well. I find it's a little every man for himself out there, except Guhle, I actually like when he speared Konecny who was acting like a fool agaisnt Slaf.

I'm not saying that at all.

My problem was the reaction of the supposed "teammates" that were on the ice when it happened.

Not one of those chicken poops even bothered to do anything.....nothing, zip.

Look at that little (frank)er that jumped Jackeye, I had more respect for him, than those 4 chicken poops that were on the ice..

even yesterday, yes there was a lack of reaction right after the Guhle hit, but I wouldn't say they got owned all night.

It was dumb mainly because it was Stamkos who injured Hagel. From his angle he probably thought it was a knee from Xhekaj.

Bang on. The team doesn't get manhandled physically, at all.

But they did lack reaction on the Guhle hit. I don't remember who was on the ice but I wish someone had at least given Doucherov a little glove to the face.
