i dont dislike reaves. just not sure how he effects the outcomes of games. even with all the things you describe are going on.

we will see if its a playoff thing and pushes the leafs over the top (more than 2 rnds)

Fun fact of the day!

MA Fleury is the only active goalie in the NHL with a tie!

Sounds good on paper, until you put him out against top lines that have speed. Dude will get smoked by somebody like Point unless he gets lucky and lines him up in open ice or along the boards.

I do think if Reaver can maintain his level of responsible play, there is a spot for him when the playoffs come. Especially against teams like Tampa and Florida that try to throw their weight around.

the grim reaver will bend point over, pop his jar and snap his pencil neck 👊🏿

Keefe's been giving (experimenting) the tougher assignments to JT and Kampf lately b/c with Marner out that Domi/Bert/34 line isn't as trustworthy.

I assume Marner slots back in with 34 and they you'll see Kampf et al. back to normal duties ...which they've been really good at since January. Be physical ...bend the ice in our favour ...and Dewar/Kampf take the top PK minutes.

I think we're looking at a Game 1 lineup ...

Reaves had a great game! He’s getting playoff ready! Too bad the team didn’t respond to his game! Still think Keefe has no idea what he’s doing. Leaving the 4th line out against Tampa on that one goal was all on him! And, seriously, yeah I know the Leafs, like every team, have had some injuries…..but there is not one line on this team!! Not one line! It’s just a bunch of players that go into the blender and let’s see who plays together tonight! You can’t tell be that familiarity doesn’t breed better play!! In the years that Keefe has been here there has never been even one consistent line. Not even on defence pairing!!! It’s crazy!

Yeah you can see when Marner and Matthews or JT and Nylander step on the ice together, they're all bewildered like I have no idea what this guy's gonna do after all these years.

Tampa is going to be a tough out in the playoffs. I think they steamroll the Bruins if they play in first round.
- Canada Cup

The Bruins are tight with very few weaknesses. Don't think any team will be able to "steamroll" them.

Then again, strange poop happens in the playoffs. 🤷

I'd bet on Boston too. TBay can win on any given night and might go on a run if Vasi is en fuego but generally they're a little thin and I could see them wearing down quicker then most. The NHL playoffs are gruelling ....

If Sergachev is healthy and playing well, they'd be more of a threat.

There’s no doubt in my mind that Vasilevskiy’s equipment is larger than it should be.

He’s tall, but not big.

Reaves can help to knock people off their games.
But ultimately the winners of each round will come down to whos stars were stars, who won the special teams prize and goaltending.
Same as usual.

Although goals from the 4th line help as well.

I really thought Reaves' fight turned the game around.

I mean, we were losing 3-1 at the time.

And the final score was 4-1.

Thank goodness he had a meaningless fight that did nothing other than waste our time.

We need to keep this guy in the lineup.

Bullot is right.

Why didn't Marner play with Matthews last night?

Keefe should have kept that line intact!

Alternative POV..

Reaves doesn’t fight Jeannot, then Jeannot goes and runs Nylander from behind into the boards injuring him.

If the Leafs came back and won that game, you’d be singing his praises.

So you think a fight should result in a goal?
The leafs energy did pick up.

Also, he didnt initiate the fight.

I think he adds absolutely nothing to the Leafs, and every night he's in the lineup, he's taking a spot from someone who might actually contribute.

He can't play hockey.
