You know what drives me nuts? A team has a 5-1 lead and the other team does nothing but commit infractions - trips, holds, hooks - and nothing is called anymore because they are losing. The winning team can be guaranteed to draw a penalty or more for the most inconsequential of things.
This entire thing is designed to hand all momentum to the losing team.
So when they ask - why are leads so hard to hold in the NHL these days? That's why. Because game management effectively fixes the game.
I am not sure some days if I will be a hockey fan my whole life or not. Some days it's just so hard to watch this product.

The other thing is our coach and the gameplan of trying to sit on the lead. We almost never come out and bury a team, foot on the neck and stomp down. And it ALWAYS backfires on us |

They should make a rule where a healthy scratch guy can be called up at any point throughout the game.
Ripping their suit off like superman mid call up and running down to the stalls
Imagine reeves sitting for 2 periods and inserting him into the lineup in the 3rd to start a spark? (Reeves might be a bad take because he sits most of the 2 periods anyways) |

In some ways I don’t want to bury the panthers in a regulation game. Fear of them coming out in game 1 of playoffs and it’s an automatic loss. |
