Especially for a team with limited offensive abilities, can’t be chasing bad goals every game. Do you just put the new kid in here?

I don’t know.

Ersson is clearly gassed

The first one deflected on the way in but the second one, he just gave up too much net. Like he's off his angle.

The question becomes can he handle a heavy workload?
His confidence is probably pretty low right now.
I’m thinking he’s more than a capable enough goalie but he’s clearly fighting it right now.
To top it off it’s at a bad time.
Ivan the Giant might get more playing time than we thought.

Islanders goalie makes big saves.

Ersson has given none. For games now.

For sure, soft goal too, net was wide open. Also a great transition attack by the Isles

Overall I liked the way the Flyers played this first period, behind on the scoreboard but this is where the Flyers have to show that perseverance they have showed all year, stay tough and stick with it. If they keep playing at this level, they will win this game. Seems like they are having a bit of a crisis of confidence right now.

Drysdale did not turn fast enough, not a surprise considering the time he has missed. Not an excuse, needs to be better. The first goal against was a total team effort of unforced errors.

Would agree on Coots shoulder, had that last year, ZERO FUN, wiping your ass is its own adventure.

Johnson, just to slow, even if he gets puck the play will most likely die. Cam has legs but no hands, hope he gets better. ND just skating around fumbling.

Get in or lose out

I hope they split the games between the 2 goalies. Nice to make the playoffs, but they are not serious contenders. A great opportunity to let Fedotov play in the toughest part of an NHL schedule. See if he does not look overwhelmed.

The Islanders had the better of the play in that period. Not just in goals scored. Flyers generated very little good offense in that period.

That looked like a dislocated shoulder, very similar to how Drysdale looked after he took that hit in Pittsburgh. I doubt he is coming back this year. I feel really bad for him.

I will give you the Flyers did not generate nearly enough real scoring chances, but otherwise I thought they were right there.

They didn't generate any offense, gave up two goals but otherwise, they're right there. Got it. What makes them right there then? They get a good forecheck going? Not turn the puck over any? Defend well generate quality scoring chances, what?

Wow, pulling Ersson, this seems like real desperation to me. Big risk here.
