My 78-year-old mother still has 3 eggs left to find.

when you're 78 years old those eggs might not be functioning like they used to though... perhaps that mutant third egg is still active, let's hope she finds it if she's trying to give you a little brother.

I'm guessing Easter is a big deal down there? we do have family gatherings for it but for me it's always been pretty insignificant, except for the chocolate I got as a kid (and even today, because I'm a spoiled adult lol)

when i was young i remember we used to go to my grandmother's house for a big meal but after that it hasn't really been too big of a deal in my family.

i think it might be a bigger deal to the hardcore religious people.

After three consecutive wins, the Canadiens came back down to earth in a 3-0 loss against the perennial thorn in its flesh, the Carolina Hurricanes.

I see. I thought maybe because of those strong religious influences it would be a big deal for everyone even if you aren't a hardcore catholic, kinda like with christmas lol

Yeah, was always a big family gathering event, nothing religious about it. Kinda like Thanksgiving. Just everyone in one place, after the big winter of being separated for the most part, was a nice place to be.

the orthodox side of christianity uses a different calendar than the catholic after they split.

most greeks are orthodox.

and just to blow your mind, they used to celebrate christmas on different days too. jan. 6th.

Basically exposed a huge loophole in our system, which gave Greek teachers an extra sick/social day. This caused others to find an obscure Catholic holiday to take off. Board said this is insane and removed the exemption.

instead of removing it they should've given extra days to everyone, including the disciples of the church of the flying spaghetti monster.

hmm. it is known as the epiphany by all christians. the main reason is the difference between the julian and gregorian calendars.

its pretty much celebrated at the same time these days except for the truly hard core orthodoxs

Then the Greeks would be mad they don't get it too. These are teachers, Pat, many look for any loophole to not go into work
