Is it possible the Flyers paid the Russian team to let Fedotov go? |

Pretty sure that would violate sanctions since CSKA is owned by Rosneft.
Friedman said that CSKA probably cut Fedotov loose because he was unhappy and wasn't performing as well as in the past. |

Would they do the same to get a certain Russian forward here sooner than later? |

Ditto SKA, which is owned by Gazprom which is also under sanctions.

If they can. It happens but I would defer to Tomahawk. I don't know what he is mentioning.

People are too negative on this site. This team was in the toilet 18 months ago, and now look at them. We're talking about things that were never possible with Vigneault, Yeo or the other coaches who tried to turn things around. Try not to focus on the problems, yes they are definitely there, but try to enjoy it ! - BluehorseShoe64
Amen brother!!
This franchise was in shambles with no direction and now all signs are pointing upward! Not a finished product by any stretch but definitely a 180 turn around from 2 years ago!
They are a fun team to watch most games.

In the past sure, but now a lot of the KHL oligarch owners are under sanctions. That's probably why Danny said they had to work closely w/ NHL legal during the process. Don't wanna accidentally breach national security. |

You guys are starting to sound like Columbus Blue Jackets fans circa 2017.
Maybe we'll be able to celebrate a 1st-round victory before this rebuild needs to be rebuild-ed. |

Speaking of Columbus, Friedman was also touched on how Torts was angling for a front office spot there but Jarmo and JD were like... no way.
Looks like he'll probably get his chance here. |

The guys that own that team aren’t exactly hurting for cash. They’ve got oil money. |

They're currently a below .500 team. There were several years under Vigneault and Hakstol where the Flyers had a better record then they do now. - MJL

it is not negative. what i posted is very realistic as I see it.
look at them, they are still so far away from contention. so many things went right to get this average team they have this year. - hello it's me 2050
It's a process, Rome was not built in a day. The past two seasons the Flyers were laughing stocks to other teams in the league, and worst of all for Flyers fans, they were not a likeable team to root for. This year has been the first good hockey season in the past several years, it has been a step in the right direction. The Flyers are an exciting team to watch, and they have young players that a Flyers fan can get behind and root for. Of course they are far away from contention, everyone knows that beginning with Jones, Briere and Torts. But I for one look forward to watching every single game the Flyers play and can't wait to see what they do this off-season and the draft. |

.916 in the playoffs and .914 save percentage in the regular season is not bad, but whatever the reason, I am relieved to see him here. I also believe the Flyers paid off somebody to get him over so quickly. |

I feel pretty certain when Michkov comes over, it won't be leaked early. And "yes" I do believe Michkov will not be in the KHL for 3 years. |

We're going to find out just how close Jones, Briere and Tortorella think they are to contention. I bet they act like they're a lot closer then they actually are.
Hopefully they do the right thing and start by trading Konecny and Laughton if they can find the right deals. Try and move that stiff Ristolainen without taking it on the chin too badly and for heavens sake, stop signing players like Staal and Hathaway.

Should they re sign Frost and York long-term this summer to potentially get a better deal?

Man I still can't believe fedotov is here.
It nakes total sense why DB didn't upgrade the back up position. This had to be in the works for weeks, if not a month or more since I imagine getting a visa for a Russian player who is Russian military doesn't sound like a cake walk.
Nor so much as a peep from anyone, just like the mitchkov meetings that happened.
And the quitter G fiasco.
DB is running things like he's been doing this for years[/img] |
