Kaiser with a real nice game today.
The more i watch Reichel the more I'm disappointed in his play. Charmin soft. It goes to show how important compete is.
Seth Jones great play on 1st goal against. Hoping he plays only 20 minutes a night and is off the power play the sooner the better.

Only difference between Jonrs play and Korbinski getting undressed On the PP a minute later was Mrazek saved it. |

Think how slow he would be if he wasn't able to take 6 weeks off to let his jaw heal. The NHL grind is hard for an 18 year old to handle. When I found out that Faber is 21, I could understand why he was able to handle 25 minutes a night.
If Bedard can't pot 5 or 6 more goals before the end of the season, I can see Faber winning the Calder. |

Big fan of Stu. Was crushed when the Ducks took him in the expansion draft.
It's interesting how articulate the tough guys like Grimson, Tocchet and Scott are.
- Popsghostly
Grimson is a lawyer and Scott is a mechanical engineer. Tocchet is just a soft spoken bad ass.

Only difference? Played the guy in front of him made him go to his backhand? Seth jones skated away from the guy with the puck as Kurashev was covering the guy he was going to. |

Following the individual points race
McDavid has come from a 10-15 point deficit to now be neck - to - neck with Kucherov - he trails by one point
McKinnon had not as many big point nights and has played one more game than Kucherov
and two more than McDavid.
I would guess that either Kucherov or McDavid will win the scoring title. .My pick is McDavid although I do believe that Kucherov is capable of winning the title |

Rico's guy, Hrabel, lost yesterday. Not his fault, imo; he looks damn good. Smooth in movements and calm.
Fun game to watch. |

Trade him now while the Hawks can still get some value. KD might be able to recover a 4th or 5th round pick if he acts quickly.

We've already done that trade before, Phil Esposito. Before Gretzky he had all the scoring records. |

Was curious about how historical standings factored into how the draft lottery has played out. Here are the last 10 years of standings and their respective picks:
Standings | Draft Order
2014: Buffalo, Florida, Edmonton | Florida, Buffalo, Edmonton
2015: Buffalo, Arizona, Edmonton | Edmonton, Buffalo, Arizona
2016: Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver | Toronto, Winnipeg, Columbus
2017: Colorado, Vancouver, New Jersey | New Jersey, Philadelphia, Dallas
2018: Buffalo, Ottawa, Arizona | Buffalo, Carolina, Montreal
2019: Ottawa, Los Angeles, New Jersey | New Jersey, New York, Chicago
2020: Detroit, Ottawa, San Jose | New York, Los Angeles, Ottawa
2021: Buffalo, Anaheim, New Jersey | Buffalo, Seattle, Anaheim
2022: Montreal, Arizona, Seattle | Montreal, New Jersey, Arizona
2023: Anaheim, Chicago, Columbus | Chicago, Anaheim, San Jose
So basically, the team that had the second best odds (like Hawks currently do), only have a 60% chance of being a top-3 pick, which checks out with the actual probability odds: 13.5% for pick 1, 14.1% for pick 2, 30.7% for pick 3 (~58% likelihood). |

I watched Minnesota - Omaha last night and one thing is certain: #11 Moore and #5 Rinzel were basically non-dominant factors. Rinzel does remind me of the Vlasic the hawks drafted way back before ehe made the Hawks parent club. Rinzel has smooth effortless feet and is concentrating on more of a stay at home role. Moore was very good in the circle and seems a ways a way also so I expect they stay in school. You cannot count one game to determine most opinions, but they both are still kids.

My best way of not continuing to think of where the Blackhawks will draft I have just pencilled them in at #4.
Now the tougher part is figuring who is still on the board by then.
If the hawks won Celebrini it would bring up all the same BS about Kyle beach, unfair and rigged.
Hey and if we don't win it, we can prequalify in 2025 in a really nice top end of players already looking equals to some of our 2025 gems.
a nice top three forwards and more.

Wasn't Misa super heralded with his exceptional status? I thought he was a sure-fire #1 pick. Interesting to see two other guys pass him up - must be a real good class at the top.
Also, we all know the next time Kyle Beach/unfair/rigged get brought up will be in 2026 when Bedard's cousin Gavin McKenna is eligible and Uncle Gary gives us another gift |

It'll be that as soon as they start winning anyway. Guess that can be qualified with an *if*.
The league needs the Blackhawks to be good. I think the existing national TV deal expires in 4 years and the local one is next year maybe?
The Hawks have one of the bigger followings in the league. Though the Bears will certainly draw a lot of attention if it's another slow year on the west side.
Right now they have the second highest viewership numbers this season and are the second worst team in the league (theyre top 5 - depending on whose numbers you believe it puts them in a different slot). Them having a competitive team and being in the playoffs is in the leagues best interest. Especially since negotiating a new TV deal is coming and anything they can do to pump those numbers is probably a desirable thing.
2013 and 2015 cup series were the highest ranked for viewership since 2008 and 2010 was the 4th (2019 at third). The Hawks are a draw and kind of a big deal in that regard. |

He's been a huge part of the Powerplay being effective lately, no way they should take him off it. |

Glad you tuned into this tilt, Mo. Hopefully you saw the 1st period as it was a good representation of the college game. Physical and a lotta pace. Double OT game to start the tournament as MI St vs W MI and Quinnipiac vs Wisconsin go to OT today.
Hrabal sure is interesting. As you mention very little noise in his game, very poised for a true freshman and add he's 6ft 7in and can really skate when it's needed. If it's in him and he gets good coaching and proper development this kid has a real chance to be an impact goalie.
Our guy Gajun's backup in Green Bay was Goalie of the Week as the USHL gets ready to start the playoffs........ None of this will matter in 5 yrs but you like to see your prospects doing well and if Gajun doesn't get playoff starts that's a lost opportunity.
