It's ok I guess for short trips around the city but range anxiety is not something I wanted to worry about (especially in winter). The electric charging infrastucture is not very good from what I heard.

Also, I keep my cars for a long time so I don't want to have to replace the batteries ($$$) in 10 years due to their degradation.

The range on mine is 430km and you can charge it in 20 minutes up to 80% on a level 3 charger. How often do you drive 400k in a day?

I don’t mind people that still like ICE cars, you’re allowed to like them, i just don’t like the false arguments.

Really? ... didn't know that.

Call me old school but the closest I'll ever come to owning an EV would be a car with an hybrid engine. I don't want to stand 40 minutes at a charging station while the battery recharges.

Yeah if you limit the number of fast charges. Plus even if you have to change it one day the amount you safe on brakes, oils changes, timing belts and all the maintenance on a gas car will probably the price of a battery in a couple of years

i feel like if i get one more gas powered car, by the time i need my next car they will have a lot of the issues and bugs and whatnot with EVs figured out and i'll buy one then.

now that i think about it, my first used car when i was a kid was a toyota corolla.

i drove that until it was stolen!

- kicksave856

Corollas are the champions in term of reliability but I found the new models a bit too small inside and I didn't like the look (front end ).

from my understanding most major bugs and issues have already been resolved since the first models that came out, but maybe there are remaining particular problems with certain makers I'm not aware of.

One thing that’s great with EVs is that since it’s all electric they can fix most of the bugs by rolling out software updates

i feel the same about them.

i'd have also chosen the civic 100 times out of 100. it's a better car.
