One of the frustrating aspects is the PowerPlay. Pretty much worst in the league all year and it seems they never did anything to adjust, other than playing with different men at the point. The system they use in the PowerPlay needed to be adjusted not just the personnel.

LOL, once its proven that you've made numerous asinine and unintelligent statements. Again! On a daily basis. Then move the goal posts. I've addressed all of your points with facts. Objectively, no matter how you want to look at it. The Flyers are a mediocre or average NHL team.

Which person is dumb as a stick? The one who knows that winning less than half the games played means you're below .500 or the guy who thinks thinks that means you're above .500? LOL

- MJL

The Flyers have 28 regulation wins, and 27 regulation losses which makes them above a .500 team. So yes, you are DUMB AS A STICK!

How many games have the Flyers played this year?

I looked this up. The KHL plays on 3 different sized rinks. NHL, Finnish, and international. CSK plays on a Finnish sized rink.

It wont be as hard for him to adjust since he already has to adjust depending on who and where they are playing.

- MBFlyerfan

Oh that's interesting, I never realized.

Still, Russian game is a lot different than NHL. Contractually it might be smarter to just toll him fully this year and bring him in next year, where he will have camp and preseason to get acclimated.

So fedetov is finally heading here. I'd start him over sandstrom. He can't do any worse

So you are saying ignore OT hockey all together? Those 33 Boston points dont matter? Those ridiculous OT decisions by Torts are just a mirage and don't matter?
- Flyfly

Again, you are not understanding. Of course they matter since teams get 1 point for winning in OT. What I am saying is OT/SO wins or losses mean nothing when EVALUATING the team, since OT/SO are not REAL hockey. I prefer to watch the real games an gauge the team based on those results. I can't believe this is that hard to understand.

That's just not reality, though. They have played 73 games, not 55. If you had stated that your opinion was that points percentage (or hockey .500, as Bill has been labeling it) is the better way of determining a team's success, I would have respected your opinion, while disagreeing with the premise, by not replying to your post. However, you called the few posters who have been making the distinction between winning percentage and points percentage liars (false narrative). The fact is that after EVERY NHL game each website that covers the game, the local and/or national postgame show and every morning newspaper will proclaim that one team won the game and the other lost.
Your enthusiasm and dedication to the Flyers is without doubt, but you are wrong in stating that they have an over .500 winning percentage at 36-37.
I agree the Flyers have had a good season thus far, but that is relative to the expectations for the 2023-24 Flyers. In a couple/few years this would not be a good season (at least that is my fervent hope).

According to Torts today, he didn't address the media after the game because he had family at the game and wanted to spend time with them instead.

I think this is a really bad excuse. Just say you were pissed the team lost again in OT and didn't want to walk out again mid question.

- jd250

I'm going to tell my boss that I'm not going to work tomorrow because I want to spend time with my family.

He's the Jack Edwards of Philadelphia.... well, maybe not that bad, but a homer nonetheless.

At least JM doesn't talk like he's got an undiagnosed stroke.

The Flyers have played 73 games. If we add 28 plus 27, that only comes to 55. What about the other 18 games? They just disappear into la-la land?

Honestly, please tell me you're not this stupid.

Yeah it is pretty bad. I used to tune to the B's broadcast for the entertainment. Now it's just sad.

Nice manners, Babe!
Why did you have to resort to insulting MY intelligence, when it's clear reading back that you are one of the rare few who have adopted your stance. There is way too much personal negativity on this site anymore, and you are a huge part of it, so I made sure to point out something positive about your posting history. I apparently thought too highly of you...

Because it’s 3 on 3 pond hockey, lol are you seriously asking why this isn’t real? Why isn’t it used in the playoffs? Because it’s a gimmick. Point system is extremely flawed and awarding points for the gimmick and the shootout is dumb.

1000% agree. 3 on 3 is not real hockey.
It would be like in baseball for extra innings they removed the shortstop, center fielder and 2nd baseman. Which sounds kinda stupid.

No we all have it... it is your argument that makes no sense. The last time I checked the greatest hockey league in the world has OT and SOs. They are part of REAL GAMES.

Your logic is astounding.

i think it's obvious they should be considered with an asterisk as these 3 on 3 scenarios and shootouts could have gone either way in a playoff scenario. so if we are talking about the flyers and how they would stack up in the playoffs, playing continuous 5v5 - a scenario that would lean in their favor as a tight checking team with no elite talent - then there is absolutely no reason we can't consider this a factor.

but if you want to continue being deliberately obtuse then by all means...

3 on 3 isn’t real hockey. It was created as away to avoid the shootout, which is also not real hockey.
