30-17 in SOG. Flyers played well enough. Goalies and finishing were the difference. WAS and DET both lost. Disappointing but not the end of the road. Flyers offense needs to wake the F up and we need Errson to get back to form and/or some Russian love.

Where have we heard this before? Goalies and finishing. York 28 minutes on ice last night I see. Wow! Sounds like Sanheim had another bad game (only saw the first period). Atkinson and Coots looked like were trying to break Hartnell's record for fall downs in one game, and that was just in the first period. I know some folks want more Coots, but he looks cooked.

Another player that can't keep up with the play? The entire team lacked energy for the most part for a lot of the game.

The Flyers are a slow team. Speed has never been an attribute management values - prefer "watching paint dry" hockey.

Flyer shots on goal are a useless stat. It just means they don’t know how or can’t make another play so throw it at the net

So let me get this straight…. Torts used coots too much early in season but yet now fans are calling for him to use him more?

So torts was wrong to ride his supposed star early but now he’s supposed to ride his star late?

Makes sense

Hypocrisy

Somehow in your mind, fans asking Couturier to play a bit more than the 9:40 he played at 5 on 5 and the 10:26 he played overall is asking the coach to ride Couturier? Okay

It always cracks me up when a team has a bad game and fans need to scapegoat some players. Even worse when they get it wrong. Sanheim didn't have a bad game. He had a strong game. One of the few players that did.

What makes you think he can handle more time? I just saw the first period and I'd say he fell down about 10 times just in the first period. I'd put him out there on the PP to win faceoffs and such, but he doesn't give me the impression that he can handle much more ice time than he is currently getting.

I was only going by what OTHER folks were saying. Although he did get 7 minutes less ice time than York.

Sanheim wasn’t good tonight. Coots I think needs to get some more ice….
- landros 2

Sanheim has not been good for a quite a while, especially defensively. I have never liked him in the past, and I was happy to see he played better at the start of the season, but he has been back to the Sanheim of old since then. It would be good for the Flyers to unload him in the off-season. The Flyers need to open up spots on their blue line anyway and with Risto probably not coming back this year according to Briere, Sanheim with his point totals to me is the best trade option.

Between yourself saying Couturier fell 10 times in a period and this. What caused the ice time differential?

I do agree with him that the Flyers lacked energy for most of the game, they turned it on the in the 3rd but too little too late. Farabee looked slow, but so did a lot of players tonight.

The issue that you and others are not aware of is that as a pairing, Sanheim and York are over matched as a top pairing. Neither player is individually on merit a legit top pairing defenseman and especially not together. Either one could be a decent compliment to a legit #1 defenseman but the Flyers don't have that. If York and Sanheim were properly slotted, they would be pretty good overall.

I just find it interesting that Sadheim was getting those kind of minutes earlier in the season and now York is getting those minutes. Sanheim's +/- is fugly.

Fedotov is gonna start against CLB.

- Trox88

it is going to take time to get here. not like he can grab his passport hope on a plain and all. Who knows what hoops they have to go through. Even Kolosov its been like 4 days and he still is in russia.

Sam rocking an under .90 sav % is not good. So the opportunist will there for both next season.

I wonder if they give the Ivan a new 2 year contract for Sam money or a tad higher.

also can either play in the playoffs? as isnt there a roster deadline for euro players?

flyers will also have to wait a bit longer on rizzo. as denver won.

I can’t wait for this team to miss playoffs and the gluk gluk gluk posters on here eat poop when they see how we pick 15th or 16th in draft instead of top 10 like they should. I might even orgasm at their sheer disappointment of being hosed all year long

I really hope they do miss. This is what the franchise deserves.

Typical hockey games are 3 periods. Flyers showed up for one. Simple as that. PP continues to hold this team back. Fortunately the Caps and Wings lost. Must win on Saturday and Monday.

Sure they do. Somebody has to play those minutes and accrue stats that look like first pairing minutes.

I think York is a #2 d-man at his best. Sanheim is a 3-4 at his best. Both are asked to do more than they are capable of . York is handling it better right now. Sanheim handled it better earlier this season. Sanheim is struggling right now though.

I am not saying sanheim is a legit top pair guy in any way.

This is why I firmly believe the flyers will do everything in their power to acquire (in their eyes) a top pair dman this summer.

Frustrating game to watch. Flyers were out worked and barely played 20 mins of good hockey. Gotta move forward and get right for this weekend.

I cant see how either goalie is getting to Philly in a week’s time. It would be nice but not counting on either of them getting here anytime soon.
