I think the retention comment was taken out of context. Adams is just saying it was for a pick with no salary retention. I don’t think the Sabres were being cheap or anything like that.

I think he would fit in the role of Buffalo's POHO, and bring in a different coach.

A POHO just sets the culture and keeps the GM and coach in check - I think his vision would be a significant improvement to Terry and Adams.

Plus he is a realistic hire, in a limited pool of people who would want the job, not just the money.
