That's the script of the season right there lol.

PP could have made it a 2 goal lead in the 3rd and the best chance went to the Avs. Then they proceed to leak oil the rest of the period until they lose.

This might be the most defeated team I’ve ever watched and I have watched some pretty (frank)ing defeated Notre Dame teams limp their way across the finish line my entire life.

So Crosby needs 9 points in 12 games to hit his 1 PPG streak. Certainly feel a lot better about that than the 13 points in 13 games he needed coming in.

My other random thought about these last few games... I really like Michael Bunting and he's exactly what we've been asking for since Horny left.

Otherwise, good goaltending masked a lot of these problems in the 1st half. Credit to Ned and Jarry, but they were always outperforming. Sooner or later they were going to come back down to earth and reveal just how bad this team is defensively.

Like I keep saying, bunting is a guy that showed up a few years too late. He would have been a great addition two or three years ago but now he’s just kinda wasted here.

Looking good right now but somehow 2 goal leads mean nothing to the Pens

Realistically, these teams will finish below us in the standings:

Sharks
Blackhawks
Ducks
Coyotes
Canadiens
Senators
Blue Jackets

These teams we are about even with and could go above/below:

Flames
Kraken
Sabres
Devils

So that means, our best case scenario is to be 8th when the lottery comes around. If we finish 8th, we have a 12.2% chance at a top 2 pick and we couldnt finish the lottery outside of the top 10.

But we could easily drop to 11th/12th and need some help to get back in to the top 10 to keep our draft pick.

Just to add to what Vic is saying... Other than two games against Cbus (probably a split), I wouldn't pick this team to win another game down the stretch. The schedule is loaded with teams that all have something to play for.

I agree, and I don’t think an offseason washes this away either.

Would the flyers take this bum for an 8th?

Bemstrom screens the goaltender on the Joseph goal to make it 4-0. Then gets benched the remainder of the game.

Puustinen makes a sweet pass to set up Sid to make it 3-0. Then gets rewarded with a handful of shifts.

Puljujarvi opens the scoring with a rare rebound goal.

I'm sorry, I just don't get why these guys aren't playing more. Play these guys, they make things happen.

At least Puljujarvi did get a steady shift.

Saw some of Ellers post game interview. You'd have thought his dog just died. DK made that point a couple of weeks ago. He takes losses very personally. I like that. One of the reason's I want him to stick around.

Probably not a coincidence he’s one of the few guys that still seems checked in.

Most do not seem to care They cash their paychecks and laugh at you fans who take losing a lot more serious than some of the players FAT WALLET SYNDROME
Losing becomes just a bad habit and the coaching staff is to blame for that But keep paying the big bucks and you get less for your bucks all the time Sports is becoming really a bad habit too Too much money being paid out for poor performance.
I have become less interested and I really do not care any more More and more fans alienated by lack of passion
